Overview
A Social Media Content Strategist is responsible for leading a brand's content strategy, approach and process on social & digital channels, plays a key role in the strategic development of social and digital media campaigns, and offering counsel to clients and colleagues.
Responsibilities
  • Foster meaningful working relationships with Sr.-level client contacts
    • Accommodate and anticipate client needs; make appropriate recommendations to clients
    • Respond to requests for information from clients in a timely manner
  • Draft succinct and insight-informed campaign strategies for multiple clients
  • Write and present thorough, constructive creative briefs for creative services team
  • Flag new social media tactics and proactively identify brand-right opportunities
  • Assess day-to-day content with sound strategic judgement, providing clear feedback and/or approvals
  • Draft shot lists for photo and video shoots
  • Support VP on development of brand strategy and annual tactical plans
  • Drive effective implementation of multiple social media programs/campaigns
    • Deliver high qualify results on-time and on-budget
    • Anticipate issues
    • Make recommendations for ways to meet clients' needs
  • Recognize and seek opportunities to grow clients' social/digital programs/business, including PR clients who have yet to scope the digital team for a standalone project
  • Build and maintain relationships with social media contacts and influencers on behalf of the agency and clients
  • Demonstrate an interest in the long-range health of the agency
  • Represent the agency in professional associations; develop new professional contacts through participation in outside organizations
  • Participate in agency brainstorm sessions for client programs
  • Actively participate in agency committees or departments as designated/asked
  • Participate in agency projects and events
  • Ability to:
    • Understand the intricacies of established and emerging social channels
    • Understand the clients' business and relevant industry trends, and use the information to collaboratively develop creative and strategic social media marketing plans
    • Travel to client and event locations; meet with clients at their office locations/headquarters
  • Demonstrate solid writing, editing, presentation and interpersonal communication skills
  • Show integrity and good judgment when working with colleagues and clients
  • Deal constructively with client and personnel situations

Qualifications
  • B.A. in Marketing, Public Relations or otherwise relevant course of study
  • Three (3) to four (4) years of experience managing social channels for clients/brands, developing social content plans and digital strategies, and managing social/digital media campaigns
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Experience managing clients, providing recommendations, project updates, and constructively evaluating briefs.
  • Deep experience developing creative content strategies for both owned channels and paid media campaigns
  • Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, other creative development tools, paid social & influencer marketing

Compensation
In order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, the Company believes the target range of base compensation for this role is $70,000-90,000 annually, and may be eligible for overtime pay. Actual compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and location.
