Job description

About the Role

Lola Blankets is a fast-growing comfort and lifestyle brand on a mission to make the world a cozier place. We are seeking a Senior Director of Supply Chain Operations to build and own the operational infrastructure that governs how Lola's products are made, inspected, and delivered - including managing supply chain capacity, revamping a QA/QC program, ensuring product compliance, and overseeing all inbound freight operations. This is a leadership role for a Mandarin-fluent supply chain operator with deep China manufacturing experience who can drive transparency and accountability into our vendor base while building the strategic foundation that de-risks and scales Lola's supply chain for the long term.

Core ResponsibilitiesSupply Chain Transparency & Vendor Intelligence
  • Drive transparency through all of Lola's supply chain, primary and secondary vendors, to proactively identify and mitigate risks, manage capacity, and avoid issues.
  • Build and maintain a comprehensive view of factory capacity, lead times, and constraints - translating that into actionable intelligence for Product and Operations teams.
  • Co-own direct relationships with factory owners and senior leadership - serving as the primary escalation point for capacity shortfalls, quality failures, and compliance issues.
  • Support sourcing & new vendor onboarding, ensuring that any new partners meet Lola's standards, follow and sign all relevant compliance terms, and de-risk not re-risk Lola's business.
Quality & Compliance
  • Develop in-factory and in-US QA/QC programs with proper inspection standards, end-of-line protocols, defect reporting, and third-party auditing across all product categories.
  • Develop factory scorecards and a feedback loop to product and sourcing teams - ensuring quality performance informs vendor selection and product development.
  • Partner with all vendors to conduct and maintain all relevant audits and corrective action plans, driving higher operating standards and increased partner visibility.
  • Partner with Product team on product compliance program, maintaining and updating all documentation for all active SKUs to ensure brand partner, retail, and customs requirements are met.
Inbound Logistics & Import Operations
  • Own all inbound logistics - freight forwarder relationships, container booking, vessel scheduling, and port coordination - on time and at optimized cost.
  • Create systematic processes and visibility into all shipments to inform key business campaigns and initiatives.
Supply Chain Strategy & Continuous Improvement
  • Develop Lola's long-term supply chain strategy and serve as Lola's primary Operational presence in China & beyond through regular factory travel.
  • Partner with Product to inform sourcing strategy: vendor and country diversification, concentration risk, and capacity planning for peak seasons.
  • Develop, own, and improve KPIs across Lola’s network of vendors to improve margins, productivity, and resilience.
Cross-Functional Leadership
  • Partner with Sourcing, Planning, and other leaders to create a de-risked, mature supply chain enabled by robust S&OP processes.
  • Provide landed cost modeling, freight forecasting, and supply chain risk inputs to Product, Finance, and Operations leadership.
  • Partner with Legal to build and maintain Lola's supply chain risk register - systematically identifying and mitigating vendor concentration, geopolitical, compliance, and logistics risks.
  • Partner with the Product, Ops, and Marketing to ensure clean handoffs and clear plans from PO placement through ready-for-sale.
Location and Working Arrangement

Preference for candidates in New York or Utah who can be hybrid in our offices 3 days per week. Also open to remote candidates in Austin or Los Angeles.

Qualifications
  • 10+ years in supply chain operations with significant experience managing China-based manufacturing supply chains at a consumer goods brand.
  • Professional Mandarin fluency required - must be able to conduct factory meetings and build authentic relationships with Chinese manufacturing partners.
  • Track record of building direct, trusted factory relationships, enabling partner transparency, and holding manufacturing partners accountable to rising standards.
  • Proven experience building and operating best-practice supply chain capabilities for manufactured consumer goods: QA/QC programs, vendor and product compliance assurance programs, capacity planning, and more.
  • Hands-on FOB import operations experience - freight forwarders, customs compliance, container logistics, and inbound visibility tools.
  • Builder mentality - comfortable starting with zero team and zero infrastructure, with the drive and judgment to build both the right way.
  • Proven people leader.
  • Self-directed and highly organized.
What We Offer

Competitive base salary and annual bonus based on company and individual performance.

  • 21 days paid vacation + all federal holidays
  • Full health benefits (health, dental, vision, mental)
  • 16 weeks paid birth parent leave; 8 weeks non-birth parent leave
  • 55% off Lola Blankets for friends and family
  • Opportunities for career growth within Lola Blankets
