Job Description

We are seeking a mid-level Product Manager to help deliver compelling, end-to-end consumer experiences at the intersection of software and hardware. This role focuses on consumer electronics and storage products, with a strong emphasis on software applications that run on or integrate with hardware devices.

The ideal candidate is a self-starter with a curious mindset who enjoys working cross-functionally with internal engineering teams and external partners to ensure seamless integration, high performance, and a great user experience across platforms.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Define and drive product requirements for software applications that run on or interact with hardware products.
  • Partner closely with Software and Hardware Engineering teams to shape features, prioritize roadmaps, and deliver high-quality releases.
  • Participate in hands-on testing and validation of software applications on hardware platforms, providing actionable feedback to improve quality, usability, and reliability.
  • Evaluate the end-to-end consumer experience across hardware and software touchpoints, identifying gaps and opportunities for improvement.
  • Proactively generate and champion ideas to enhance consumer experience using software capabilities on hardware products.
  • Collaborate with host partner software teams to optimize the end-to-end user experience, ensuring seamless integration between storage hardware and host software applications.
  • Identify and help resolve compatibility issues while driving improvements in performance, reliability, and usability across supported platforms.
  • Translate customer needs, technical constraints, and business goals into clear product requirements, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Work cross-functionally with product, design, QA, marketing, and partner teams throughout the product lifecycle, from concept through launch and iteration.

Qualifications

REQUIRED:

  • 3–5 years of Product Management experience.
  • Experience testing or validating software applications on hardware products.
  • Solid understanding of consumer electronics; familiarity with storage products is strongly preferred.
  • Comfort working at the intersection of software and hardware, with an appreciation for how the two come together to shape user experience.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal engineering teams and external software partners.
  • Self-starter with an inquisitive mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to clearly articulate ideas, requirements, and trade-offs.

SKILLS:

  • Experience with consumer-facing software paired with physical devices.
  • Familiarity with cross-platform ecosystems (e.g., Windows, macOS, Android, iOS).
  • Exposure to performance optimization, reliability improvements, or compatibility validation.
  • Passion for consumer technology and delivering polished, intuitive experiences.

  • The salary range is what we believe to be the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting.  We may ultimately pay more or less than the posted range and this range is only applicable for jobs to be performed in California, Colorado, New York or remote jobs that can be performed in California, Colorado and New York.  This range may be modified in the future.
  • You will be eligible to participate in Sandisk's Short-Term Incentive (STI) Plan, which provides incentive awards based on Company and individual performance.  Depending on your role and your performance, you may be eligible to participate in our annual Long-Term Incentive (LTI) program, which consists of restricted stock units (RSUs) or cash equivalents, pursuant to the terms of the LTI plan. Please note that not all roles are eligible to participate in the LTI program, and not all roles are eligible for equity under the LTI plan. RSU awards are also available to eligible new hires, subject to Sandisk's Standard Terms and Conditions for Restricted Stock Unit Awards.
