Equity Research, Senior Associate - Lifestyle & Growth Platform / Consumer
Position Summary
Jefferies is seeking a highly motivated Senior Associate to join its Consumer Equity Research team, covering the firm's Lifestyle & Growth Platform. The platform spans more than seven consumer subsectors, including fitness, value retail, footwear, athletic, apparel, small appliances, golf, and other emerging consumer growth categories, providing broad exposure across some of the most dynamic areas of the consumer landscape.
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of equity research experience, with consumer sector experience preferred. This role is highly client-facing and requires a demonstrated ability to build relationships, deliver exceptional client service, and respond effectively to investor inquiries.
The successful candidate will work directly with a highly respected Senior Analyst who has 26 years of sell-side equity research experience, including 18 years at Jefferies, and who has built a differentiated franchise covering consumer and lifestyle companies. The role offers significant exposure to institutional clients, corporate management teams, and senior leadership within the Research department.
The successful candidate will possess strong analytical and financial modeling skills, intellectual curiosity, and a passion for understanding consumer behavior, emerging brands, retail trends, and product innovation.
Key Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with the Senior Analyst to produce earnings reports, company updates, thematic research, industry publications, and initiation reports.
  • Build, maintain, and enhance comprehensive financial models and valuation frameworks.
  • Analyze company filings, earnings releases, industry reports, trade publications, alternative datasets, and other primary and secondary research sources.
  • Generate timely investment insights through rigorous analysis of company, industry, consumer, and market trends.
  • Develop client marketing materials and support ongoing investor engagement efforts.
  • Respond to client inquiries and contribute to the team's external marketing and thought leadership initiatives.
  • Attend management meetings, industry conferences, channel checks, and field research activities, as appropriate.
  • Leverage proprietary, third-party, and alternative datasets to identify trends and support differentiated investment recommendations.
  • Contribute to the initiation of coverage reports and other in-depth research publications.

Preferred Qualifications
  • 3+ years of equity research experience; consumer sector experience preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree required; degree in Finance, Economics, Accounting, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • Strong financial statement analysis, modeling, and valuation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to synthesize large amounts of information into clear and actionable investment conclusions.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with strong attention to detail.
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Intellectual curiosity and a genuine interest in consumer behavior, retail trends, lifestyle brands, and emerging consumer categories.
  • Experience utilizing alternative data and advanced data visualization tools is a plus.
  • Required FINRA licenses (Series 7, 63, 86, and 87).

The salary offered will take into consideration an individual's experience level and qualifications.
