Job Description

The Operational Excellence Manager is responsible forย theย development,ย documentation, and standardization of CRB project delivery processes, driving continuous improvement process initiatives for the Project Operations and Risk (POR) group, and facilitating process change managementย across regional operations.ย 

A successful candidate for this position will be a collaborative team player and have a strong drive to deliver high quality outcomesย in support of project delivery and risk management.ย This individual must possess the skills required to successfully assistย functional process owners and experts in eliciting and documenting procedures,ย toย developย operational documentation and job aids, andย to effectively communicate change to drive adoption of standard processes.ย The Operational Excellenceย Manager will have proven ability to handle multiple complex tasks and have project management skills, including the ability to establish and manage priorities.ย 

Responsibilitiesย ย 

  • Communicate with the business to identify process needs and pain points.ย 
  • Coordinate theย intake, analysis, prioritization, planning, resourcing, and internal/external communication of PORย initiatives.ย 
  • Employ observation, interviewing,ย and coachingย withย process stakeholders to accurately documentย current and future stateย processes.ย 
  • Determine measures for analyzing and improving processย performance andย lead stakeholders through process improvement cycles.ย 
  • Create process maps, workflows, relationship maps, process diagrams, and other relevant media to enable process clarity and aid in identification of forms of waste, improvements, and opportunities for technological enablement or automation.ย 
  • Serve as a mentor to process owners and experts and advise on work procedures to maintain consistent operations between teams.ย 
  • Scope, lead, and manage process improvement initiatives, ensuring they align with business objectives and standards.ย 
  • Identify potential impacts of process changes on the business andย develop change management plans toย proactively mitigate risk.ย 
Qualifications
  • Bachelorโ€™s Degree (or above) inย Project Managementย preferred,ย andย 10+ย years of industry experience.ย 
  • Experience in an AEC, Construction, or Design Firm
  • Experienceย in process definition, procedure writing, and/or process improvement.ย 
  • Ability to communicate openly and effectively both verbally and in writing.ย 
  • Excellentย time management, organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.ย 

Additionalย Qualificationsย 

  • ASQ Certified Manager of Qualityย / Organizational Excellence (CMQ/OE) preferred.ย 
  • Proficiency with process improvement methodologies (Lean, Six Sigma, Value Stream Mapping) and software (MS Visio or similar).ย 
  • Proficiency with project management methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, Critical Path Method, etc.) and software (MS Project or similar).ย
