Job description

Lactation Consultant | Philadelphia, PA |

The Lactation Consultant is responsible for providing clinical lactation services and support to patients, families, clinical teams and community. Collaborates with multiple departments and inter-professional teams as the expert with regard to lactation, breastfeeding and human milk management. Tasks include assessing, educating, implementing interventions, and monitoring outcomes of lactation support for clients.

Facility: Children's Hospital of Philadelphia

Schedule:

  • Position is 40 hours a week (This would be 5 days a week role in which 4 day the worker will be at Main campus and 1 day will be at King pf Prussia campus)
  • Possibility for extension/conversion at the end of the assignment, if business needs align

Start: ASAP

Compensation: $45/ HR

Experience:

  • Required: At least one (1) year experience in an inpatient hospital setting.
  • Preferred: Previous experience in NICU/Pediatric, critical care


Mandatory education

  • Bachelor’s degree in healthcare or similar field of study.
  • Pediatric medical-based settings experience
  • Inpatient and Outpatient experience


Mandatory licensure/Certification

  • IBCLC certification is mandatory for all candidates
  • Candidates will need one of the below certifications as well as the IBCLC:
    • Registered Nurse (RN)
    • Licensed Dietitian-Nutritionist (LDN)
    • Occupational Therapist (OT)
    • Licensed Physical Therapist (PT)
    • Respiratory Therapist
    • Osteopathic Respiratory Therapist
    • Speech-Language Pathologist (SLP)
