Organizational Summary
The Payment Product Delivery (PPD) technology division delivers and manages end-to-end technology products to promote the growth of digital commerce and mobilization of payments in emerging and developed markets. PMO & Business Operations, GenAI/ Agile COE, Client Communications is a centralized function within PPD, responsible for program/project initiation, execution, and deployment of quality products in the marketplace. This team is also responsible for governance and reporting of GenAI Center for Excellence, training programs, financial management, and maintaining an effective system of internal product delivery controls.
Job Description and Responsibilities
This Program Manager (Technical) position is responsible for performing several aspects of Project and Program Management for the Digital Products Program. The position is part of a team driving projects that are highly complex and requires a person who can quickly come up to speed on the business (product) and technical aspects of program to collaborate with both business (product) and technical stakeholders to plan and manage software delivery.
Key responsibilities are to:
  • Leverage GenAI to automate project workflows, improve efficiency, and continuously apply new learnings.
  • Use agentic tool chains to manage project and program pipelines, schedules, and risks.
  • Create and maintain project metrics and dashboards using GenAI tools, aligned with organizational guidance.
  • Assess incoming requests for completeness and readiness for execution and provide guidance to resolve gaps.
  • Identify and manage cross-functional dependencies across technology teams.
  • Drive cross-functional project/feature estimation, planning, and identification of delivery commitments.
  • Manage planning and execution of MVP (Minimum Viable Product) scope of multiple projects concurrently to deliver phases for multi-year projects.
  • Create detailed project schedules, including dependencies between cross-functional teams, operational teams, clients and partners, and agile release trains.
  • Drive delivery and perform effective change management based on program and project priorities, approved funding, and resource availability across all dependent teams.
  • Identify cross-functional risks; create and manage a risk mitigation plan.
  • Track progress on cross-functional deliverables and ensure all stakeholders are appropriately informed of progress and issues.
  • Apply domain knowledge to identify, communicate and resolve issues, blockers, and risks. Resolve problems through information gathering, analysis, investigation, and collaboration.
  • Be a communication hub for the project team, and ensure all stakeholders have the appropriate information in a timely manner to perform their jobs.
  • Drive brainstorming sessions with the appropriate stakeholders to resolve issues.
  • Ensure the program complies with Visa's Project Management Methodology and Key Controls and that accurate and timely information is collected and reported regularly on program progress and financial status. Support data collection for audits, as needed.
  • Provide project team(s) with expertise, direction, motivation, and encouragement.
  • Share knowledge amongst direct team members and project team members; contribute to domain knowledge library and training materials.
This is a hybrid position. Expectation of days in office will be confirmed by your hiring manager.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications

  • 8 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or at least 5 years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 2 years of work experience with a PhD

Preferred Qualifications

  • 9 or more years of relevant work experience with a Bachelor Degree or 7 or more relevant years of experience with an Advanced Degree (e.g. Masters, MBA, JD, MD) or 3 or more years of experience with a PhD
  • At least 10 years of professional experience in software development or project and program management; continuous experience for at least the past 5 years managing technically complex, cross-organizational, multi-year programs or activities.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills; ability to effectively communicate technical and business issues and solutions to different organizational levels and audiences.
  • Deep analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to think strategically.
  • Strong leadership qualities and organizational skills as well as the ability to adapt quickly to change (e.g., changing priorities, assignments, and roles).
  • Strong process orientation and a solid understanding of project management techniques, methodologies, and best practices.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to ensure commitments are met or are successfully replanned when required.
  • Experience managing dependencies between technology teams using different delivery methodologies.
  • Conflict management and negotiation skills to achieve project goals and develop trust with stakeholders.
  • Able to understand high level architectural and engineering discussions, and to use this information to manage risks and ensure accurate program stakeholder communications.
  • Expertise in Jira, Jira Align, Wiki/Confluence, Mirosoft CoPilot and other Microsoft Planning tools.
  • Gen AI Automation using Python , Java, Gen AI Models such as ChatGPT and Claude.
  • Usage of Agile and AI squad delivery methodology to manage projects/program, schedule, risks along with managing program budget.
  • Usage of Kanban and SAFE frame work for management of Scope, Risks and delivery metrics.
  • Knowledge and working understanding of Technical System Architecture.
  • Certifications related to software development, secure coding practices, etc. may also be relevant.
  • Experience working on financial networks, card payments, digital wallets, or e-commerce software development and delivery.


Information for US Applicants

For roles located in the US, the estimated salary range for this position is $169,100.00 to $ 270,800.00 USD per year, which may include potential sales incentive payments (if applicable). Salary may vary depending on job-related factors which may include knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this position may be eligible for bonus and equity.Visa has a comprehensive benefits package for which this position may be eligible that includes Medical, Dental, Vision, 401(k), FSA/HSA, Life Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Wellness Program.

This position requires travel 5-10% of the time.
