Purpose

Manage and oversee all design aspects of a service program, including the development of multiple quality project management plans, project / program reporting, and development of corrective action plans. 


Responsibilities

Leadership and Direction

  • Receive broad guidance from senior-level management relating to overall key objectives, critical issues, new concepts, and policy matters and general parameters for execution.  Manage people and processes to ensure effective execution.  Review work produced by staff for quality assurance.

At the Operational and Company Level

  • Assist with marketing of the firm’s capabilities to establish new clients and enhance relationships with existing developers, builders, and government agencies.
  • Primarily responsible for the development business lines to include production and technical design, drawings, specifications, surveys, studies, reports and other products and services.
  • Ensure continually improved levels of service and quality and increased customer satisfaction through oversight of the project implementation, including assurance of collaboration and coordination among all stakeholders and mitigation of facility operational impacts.
  • Assist Regional Manager in accomplishing the service line’s (client’s) day-to-day tasks and responsibilities, including attending meetings, making project related decisions, reviewing and signing documents, and responding to senior management requests in his absence.
  • Assure conformance with company philosophy, policies and procedures.
  • Coordinate work involving other departments with counterpart department directors.

Do the Work

  • Communicate effectively with client, internal project team, sub-consultants and contractors.
  • Assist in the development of project proposals, budgets, cost standards and schedules.
  • Analyze, present, and select the appropriate project plan based on the client's criteria and project goals.
  • Conduct field observation visits to accurately document the field conditions.
  • Organize and prioritize multiple tasks to complete the design in a sequential efficient manner.
  • Accurately produce the project construction documents to meet milestone schedules within a predetermined hourly budget.
  • Review all project related construction administrative items (shop drawings, RFIs, change order proposals).
  • Review project close-out documentation (O&M manuals and as-built documents).
  • Possess expert knowledge of all codes applicable to the discipline.

  • Eight or more (8+) years of experience within the A/E industry to include a minimum of three to five (3-5) years progressively more responsible project and program management experience.
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD and REVIT.

  • Primarily local travel during the business day, although some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be required according to the needs of the business.
