Job Summary:
The Import/ExportTransportation Coordinatoris responsible forproviding hands on customer service and customerassistancefor the prompt, effective transportation, clearance, import,exportand routing of both domestic and international parcelsin accordance withproper procedures for BGS customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming calls, e-mails and faxes from customers, Brink's affiliates,subcontractorsandagentsandrespond to requests for rates, billing issues, service queries,in a timely manner

  • Coordinateday to dayactivitiesforImport / Exportshipments.Interface and coordinate smooth operation of the Import / Export Department with customers, airlines, and field locations.

  • Partner with operations staff todeterminingaccurateoperational service capabilities.

  • Responsible for meeting all IATA and US Customs requirements in document generation and cargo handling.

  • Handle service concerns diplomatically, channeling complaints to otherappropriate personnelas needed.

  • Determine and secure paperwork required for all international moves, including (but not limited to) commercial invoices, special customs paperwork, etc.

  • Determinewhether a courier isrequiredon a givenshipment, andmake courier arrangements with theappropriate gatewayairport office.

  • Respond to inquiriesregardingthe status of items in transit through our system.

  • Prepare customs entries and follow-up with the clearance process on all entries prepared through partnership with internal and external partners.

  • Scan, file, copy, and assemble documentsincluding:bills oflading, dock receipts, licenses, and consulate documents.

  • Perform Data entry for all export shipments into operating systemandmaintainhard copy files.

  • Researchcustomer claims ensuring the highest level of customer service on every call andensurethat all service complaints are handled diplomatically, channeling pertinent information to customer servicemanager.

  • Ensure all transportation arrangements are made with full consideration of security implications, according to the BGS Procedures and within the General security regulations (GSR).

  • Work closely with other members of the department to ensure the appropriate completion and distribution of the workload and maintain a high quality of service to the customers via time efficient and effective response to voicemails, e-mails, and phone calls and by always ensuring that each customer is treated with the utmost respect and consideration.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Minimum1yearsofhands onair freight Export coordination experience including but not limited to routing of shipments, pricing, routing. data entry and ensuring an outstanding customer service experience.

  • Minimum of1yearsworking with Microsoft Office and other transportation field software programs - bothindustrybased and proprietary.

  • Mustbe 21 years of age or older.

  • Able to work weekends,holidaysand/or extended hours

  • Able to lift at least 50 pounds as needed and whennecessaryon a regular basis

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience in afast pacedhigh volume Import / Export department for an air freight forwarder.

  • More than1yearsof experience servicing customers in the transportation/logisticsindustry as a coordinator, shipment router or other similarly situated air freightforwardingprofessional.

  • Good basic math skills.

  • Transferrableinternal BGS experience inan Exports, CustomerServiceor other Operational position with working knowledge of BITS,ATLASand GARCIA.

  • Experience insecuredlogistics.

  • Advanced level skills in MicrosoftOffice skills.
