Essential Responsibilities and Duties
Client Advocacy & Representation
Develop comprehensive legal strategies designed to reunite families and achieve favorable immigration outcomes.

Employment Authorization Applications
Conduct detailed legal consultations to determine immigration eligibility and identify the most effective legal pathway for each client.
Educate clients regarding immigration processes, expected timelines, legal risks, documentary requirements, and available immigration options.
Prepare clients for USCIS interviews, biometrics appointments, Requests for Evidence (RFEs), and additional agency proceedings.
Provide ongoing legal counsel throughout the lifecycle of every case while maintaining proactive communication regarding case progress and next steps.
Build trusting relationships with clients by demonstrating empathy, professionalism, cultural awareness, and exceptional client service.
Maintain the highest standards of legal ethics, confidentiality, and professional responsibility.
Case Preparation & Management
Prepare, review, and submit immigration petitions, applications, declarations, legal memoranda, motions, waivers, and supporting evidence packages with exceptional attention to detail.
Develop customized case strategies that maximize approval potential while minimizing legal risk.
Conduct legal research regarding current USCIS policies, federal regulations, statutory changes, agency guidance, and applicable case law.
Collaborate closely with legal assistants, case managers, document specialists, and paralegals to ensure timely progression of client matters.
Review supporting documentation to ensure completeness, legal sufficiency, and compliance with USCIS filing requirements.
Monitor case deadlines, Requests for Evidence, Notices of Intent to Deny, interview scheduling, biometrics appointments, and filing deadlines.
Maintain complete, organized, and accurate case records within the firm's case management system.
Ensure compliance with all federal regulations, ethical obligations, firm policies, and quality assurance standards.
Participate in continuing legal education, internal attorney trainings, and professional development initiatives to expand immigration law expertise.
Team Collaboration & Leadership
Partner with attorneys and legal support staff to deliver consistent, high-quality client representation.
Participate in collaborative legal strategy discussions and complex case reviews.
Mentor legal assistants, case managers, and newer attorneys regarding family-based immigration procedures when appropriate.
Share legal knowledge and best practices to improve departmental performance and client outcomes.
Support firm-wide initiatives that promote operational excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
Foster a collaborative, respectful, and client-focused work environment aligned with the firm's mission, values, and culture.
Required Qualifications
Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
Active Bar License in good standing in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
Ability to practice immigration law before United States Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
Strong understanding of family-based immigration laws, regulations, and USCIS procedures.
Excellent legal writing, legal research, analytical reasoning, and advocacy skills.
Exceptional interpersonal, communication, and client counseling abilities.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume legal environment.
Ability to build trust with clients experiencing emotionally complex family immigration matters.
Demonstrated commitment to professionalism, confidentiality, and ethical legal practice.
Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with attorneys, paralegals, legal assistants, and cross-functional teams.
Willingness to travel throughout the State of Texas as required to attend USCIS interviews, client meetings, community outreach events, and other firm-related activities.
Preferred Qualifications
Two (2) or more years of immigration law experience.
Demonstrated experience managing family-based immigration matters from consultation through final disposition.

Experience representing clients during USCIS interviews.
Experience responding to Requests for Evidence (RFEs), Notices of Intent to Deny (NOIDs), and other agency correspondence.
Experience managing high-volume immigration caseloads while maintaining exceptional client service.
Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred.
Experience utilizing immigration case management systems such as Litify, INSZoom, Docketwise, or similar platforms.
Demonstrated ability to manage emotionally sensitive client matters with empathy, professionalism, and sound legal judgment.

USCIS Interview Preparedness: Ensure 100% of clients are fully prepared at least 48 hours before scheduled USCIS interviews or appointments.
Client Communication Responsiveness: Respond to 100% of client communications within one business day whenever reasonably possible.
Client Satisfaction: Maintain an average client satisfaction rating of 90% or higher based upon client surveys and feedback.
Case Progression: Maintain 95% or greater on-time completion of all assigned case milestones and filing deadlines.
Case Quality: Minimize Requests for Evidence resulting from attorney-prepared filings through thorough legal review and quality assurance.
Team Collaboration: Complete 95% or greater of assigned collaborative legal tasks within established departmental timelines.
Professional Development: Successfully complete all required continuing legal education requirements while actively participating in firm-sponsored attorney development initiatives.
Work Environment & Schedule
Full-Time, Exempt Position.
This position generally follows standard business hours while maintaining the professional flexibility necessary to meet client needs, filing deadlines, USCIS scheduling requirements, and firm initiatives.
This position is based in Texas.
Regular travel throughout the State of Texas is expected for USCIS interviews, client meetings, community events, legal clinics, and firm-sponsored activities.
Occasional overnight travel may be required based upon business needs.

Salary & Benefits
Salary Range: $88,000 - $260,000
This requisition may be filled at one of several Attorney career levels (Attorney I-V), depending upon the selected candidate's education, licensure, post-bar experience, demonstrated legal expertise, leadership capabilities, and overall qualifications.
Placement within the applicable salary band is determined in accordance with the Firm's Attorney Staffing & Advancement Policy. Salary progression is based upon sustained performance, competency development, organizational contribution, client outcomes, and business needs.
