Job description


Directs activities of workers concerned with construction of carpentry trade, or other construction tasks by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction on basis of starting and completion times and staffing requirements for carpentry trade.
Orders procurement of tools and materials to be delivered at specified times to conform to work schedules. Confers with and directs personnel and subcontractors engaged in planning and executing work procedures, interpreting specifications, and coordinating various phases of planning to prevent delays.
Confers with supervisory personnel and subcontractors to resolve problems within work force.
Confers with supervisory and engineering personnel and inspectors and suppliers of tools and materials to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods detailed to carpentry trade.
Inspects work in progress to ensure that workmanship conforms to specifications and the adherence to crew schedule.
Directs workers concerned with major maintenance for existing installations detailed to carpentry trade.
Responsible for directing installation of doors, frames and hardware.
Responsible for production and quality of millwork, trim metal studs, drywall and acoustic ceilings.
Inspect and conduct on-site repairs or maintenance.
Manage small special projects.
