Construction Manager (Traveling)
Position Overview
Precision Industrial Contractors (PIC) is seeking an experienced Traveling Construction Manager to lead industrial construction projects throughout the United States. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who thrives in the field, enjoys traveling, and has a strong background managing industrial construction projects from mobilization through completion.
As a Construction Manager, you'll oversee day-to-day field operations, coordinate with project teams, subcontractors, and clients, and ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and to PIC's high standards of quality.
Key Responsibilities
  • Manage day-to-day construction activities on industrial job sites.
  • Provide leadership and direction to Superintendents, Foremen, subcontractors, and field personnel.
  • Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule, within budget, and according to contract specifications.
  • Review project drawings, specifications, schedules, and contract documents to fully understand project requirements.
  • Coordinate manpower, equipment, materials, and subcontractors to maintain project progress.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, vendors, and project stakeholders.
  • Monitor project schedules and identify opportunities to improve efficiency and productivity.
  • Conduct regular site walks to ensure quality workmanship, safety compliance, and adherence to company standards.
  • Partner with Project Managers to resolve field issues, change orders, scheduling conflicts, and project challenges.
  • Participate in project planning, progress meetings, and client updates.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations, company safety policies, and environmental requirements.
  • Mentor and develop field leadership while promoting a positive, team-oriented culture.
  • Travel extensively to project sites throughout the United States as business needs require.

Requirements & Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred; equivalent industry experience will be considered.
  • Minimum of 5 years of industrial construction management experience.
  • Experience leading field operations on industrial construction projects.
  • Experience in Pulp & Paper, Corrugated, Industrial Manufacturing, Food Processing, Power, or Heavy Industrial Construction preferred.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and decision-making skills.
  • Ability to effectively manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
  • Working knowledge of Procore and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint).
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
  • Valid driver's license with the ability to travel extensively throughout the United States.

Compensation
$100,000+ annually - Based on experience (DOE)
