Job Overview

  • Company: Blackline Design + Construction.
  • Salary/Pay Rate: $105,000 - $120,000 (based on experience) per year plus Year-End Bonus.
  • Location: St. Louis, MO (In person).
  • Job/Employment Type: Full-Time.
  • Schedule: Monday - Friday.
  • Project Types: Adaptive reuse, historic renovation, commercial interiors, mixed-use developments, and specialized facilities (including nonprofit and ag-tech projects)
  • Typical Project Size: 2mm-15mm
  • Mandatory Licenses & Certifications: None Required.

The Opportunity You will play a key role in managing the day-to-day execution of commercial construction projects, working closely with senior leadership to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and to a high standard of quality. This role offers the autonomy to take true ownership of your work within a collaborative environment that values expert guidance and client focus over micro-management. You will support the execution of projects from preconstruction through closeout, working closely with senior leadership and contributing to client communication and coordination.


How You Will Make an Impact

  • Manage day-to-day project execution from preconstruction through closeout, with support from senior leadership.
  • Coordinate comprehensive project schedules and manage critical path activities to anticipate and resolve potential delays.
  • Influence project profitability by developing detailed budgets, monitoring financial performance, and identifying value engineering opportunities.
  • Serve as a client-facing leader, building strong relationships with ownership groups, architects, and consultants.
  • Oversee subcontractor procurement and performance to maintain strict alignment with scope, schedule, and quality standards.
  • Mentor and manage diverse teams of site superintendents and project engineers to foster a results-driven culture.
  • Mitigate project risks by implementing effective safety strategies and ensuring compliance with OSHA and local codes.
  • Drive project strategy, including preconstruction planning, value engineering, and design coordination.


Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum of 3-7 years of experience in construction project management, specifically within a General Contracting environment.
  • Proven leadership ability managing commercial, multi-family, or mixed-use projects concurrently.
  • Technical proficiency in construction methods, contract negotiation, and regulatory safety requirements.
  • Advanced software skills with construction management tools such as Procore, Bluebeam, or MS Project.
  • Exceptional organizational skills with a demonstrated history of maintaining accurate project documentation.
  • Experience supporting or managing commercial construction projects.
  • This role offers a clear path to a Senior Project Manager position, with increasing responsibility and client exposure over time.


Preferred Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Architecture, or a related technical field.
  • Experience working in a client-focused firm providing deep levels of technical expertise and advice.
