Job description

Commercial Construction Superintendent

POSITION SUMMARY: The successful candidate will become an integral member of the Kelley Construction team supervising on-site building activities. Kelley Construction’s market to include but not limited to restaurant new construction, renovations and additions, medical facilities, warehousing, office buildings and large design-build expansions.

JOB DUTIES:
  • Maintain responsible construction schedule and budget
  • Maintain a safe jobsite for all Kelley Construction and subcontractor employees
  • Represent the company as Best-in-Class in job meetings with owners, architects, subcontractors and inspectors
  • Ability to effectively use different computer software to complete daily tasks such as expense approval for receipts, pictures, email, site management, time entry, etc.
  • Communicate with Kelley Construction office and project manager regarding jobsite requirements to maintain productivity, quality, and schedule
  • Ability to communicate and coordinate with owner/client vendors when needed
  • All other duties assigned by Field Operations Director
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • 5 years of commercial construction experience as a superintendent is strongly desired
  • Ability to effectively communicate professionally with all personnel, clients, customers, and architects
  • Strong managerial skills
  • Experience in concrete, framing and finish carpentry
  • Familiarity with computers and ability to use company software
  • Must be able to work in the U.S. and possess a valid driver’s license
  • Team player
  • Ensuring that safety practices are followed on the job site
  • Ability to follow instructions, read and interpret instructions

PHYSICAL DEMANDS: Ability to lift and carry up to 90 lbs. Must be able to climb and work from heights. Individual must be able to work in inclement weather conditions. Will be required to work around wood dust and fumes.
