Job description

Summary
Kent Facilities is seeking a skilled Brick & Block Mason/Masonry Tender to join our masonry-focused division in West Michigan. This team plays a critical role in protecting new construction buildings and extending the life of existing structures across the region. As a Mason on our masonry team, you will work on a wide range of exterior building systems and structural projects. Your work will directly contribute to the longevity, safety, and beauty of commercial, industrial, and institutional buildings.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Work as two to five-person teams to deliver quality services.
  • Properly maintain all equipment and tools so that they are in a safe and reliable working condition.
  • Brick & Block Mason/Masonry Tender
  • Brick and block installation, as well as replacement/repair
    • Tuckpointing
    • Mortar/grout mixing
    • Selective demolition
    • Lintel installation
    • Masonry restoration services
    • Constructing, repairing and restoring structures
    • Working from Scaffolding, swing stages and lift platforms

Required Experience, Education, and Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills and construction math skills.
  • Must have reliable transportation to the workplace(s)/ job location(s).
  • Ability to pass drug screening.
  • Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and in the future.

Preferred Education, Experience, and Qualifications
Experience working in commercial construction in a labor capacity.

Work Environment/Physical Demand
This position works in a typical construction site environment. This position requires long periods of standing and should be able to lift 80 pounds.

Position Type, Travel, and Work Schedule

  • Position Type: Full-time, field position.
  • Travel: Travel will occur in and around Grand Rapids job sites.
  • Work Schedule: This role follows a standard full-time schedule; however, additional hours may be necessary to meet project deadlines. Due to construction-related demands, the position requires flexibility to work non-typical days and irregular hours. The role also requires availability to respond to phone calls outside of standard business hours.
