Carrollโ€™s Construction Technicians install, maintain and repair fuel dispensers, submersible fuel pumps, service station site controllers, credit card readers, cash register consoles specifically Gilbarco Passport, tank & line monitoring equipment.ย 

The primary focus is on service station electronics, computers, and fuel dispensing systems. Duties include equal portions of electronics, plumbing and mechanical work. Work rotation will include after-hours on-call duty in assisting service techs. A significant portion of the work is done outdoors in all weather conditions.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • High school diploma, or equivalent preferred.
  • Valid Maryland Class C Driver's License, Class B Commercial Driver's License with Tanker and Hazmat endorsements required for Propane Tank Installations, or be open to taking this course to achieve this license.
  • Minimum 2-3 years of experience working with petroleum product tanks.
  • Ability to effectively verbally communicate with co-workers.
  • Ability to understand, comprehend and follow basic and complex directions and pay attention to detail.
  • Ability to lift/push/pull at least 50 lbs.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Working knowledge of liquid propane tanks and other petroleum product tanks.

Working Conditions:

  • Frequent exposure to unpleasant working conditions (dust, dirt, noise etc.) at off-site locations.
  • Frequently enters confined work areas (basements, crawl spaces, attics etc.)
  • Frequent bending, lifting, carrying, pulling/pushing of items weighing 50bs. and above.
