Construction Site Supervisor
Department - Construction and Development
Sage Ventures is a full-service vertically integrated residential development and investment firm. As a collaboratively run corporation, we develop, own, and operate exceptional properties throughout the greater Baltimore/Washington region.
Summary of Position: 
The Superintendent will manage the site(s) construction, field operations, and schedule for timely completion of assigned projects. This includes managing outside vendors and other contractors during site development to project close out. The Superintendent is expected to adhere to the approved development budget of each project to meet the company’s business plans and objectives. The type of construction is residential including single-family, townhomes, and multi-family.
Responsibilities:

  • Participate as required in preconstruction activities.
  • Host kick‐off meetings with subcontractors before their work starts to discuss full scope.
  • Create a site Utilization Plan consisting of the job-site office location, material laydown/staging areas, portable toilets, temporary power set-up, etc.
  • Organize & Plan Job Schedules
  • Advise Director of Construction of major risk items on each project and document incidents
  • Implement and support Sage Homes Quality Control Program and scopes of work.
  • Utilize Builder Trend and Smartsheet to document all projects activities.
  • Monitor construction to conform with plans/specifications without deviation without written authorization from Architect/Engineer/Owner.
  • Advise on construction completion to verify contractor payments.
  • Review house budgets on a quarterly basis.
  • Actively participate in creation of Project Schedule and provide weekly updated information to Director of Construction.
  • Conduct safety meetings and prepare agenda.
  • Enforce all Sager Homes safety rules and procedures.
  • Secure site & building at the end of each workday.
  • Maintain project oversight to ensure each Building is completed on-time per the construction schedule.
  • Maintain 3 week look-ahead schedules in Smartsheet.
  • Conduct weekly Subcontractor meetings to discuss safety and quality control.
  • Ensure a safe work environment for all people on site.
  • Manage the inspection process throughout construction.
  • Prepare units for customer walkthroughs and perform turnover walk with the Buyer.
  • Report on Site Development activities to the Director of Construction weekly.
  • Perform additional duties as required.

 Qualifications:
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management preferred.
  • 5 years construction experience (minimum 2 years supervisory)
  • Must be proficient at reading architectural, structural and MEP plans.
  • Ability to use construction management software. Knowledge of Builder Trend or Smartsheet a plus.
  • Must have transportation and valid driver’s license.

Physical requirement:
  • Position requires the ability to walk, stand, and climb stairs on the construction site.
  • Work in all weather conditions.
