Summary
Directly supervise and coordinate activities of employees assigned to project site for the construction, maintenance, and repair of bridges. Provides leadership and is responsible for safety, scheduling, coordinating, and supervising. Abides by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely. Please note work may be away from home requiring overnight stays possibly a week at a time or longer. Abides by Company Safety Program and Policies, while performing duties safely.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Responsible and accountable for the safety of the crews under his/her direction.
Oversees and coordinates the activities of field employees while assessing competency of the capabilities and needs of the crew. Maintains employee time and production reporting and equipment time for the week.
Accountable for following project plans and schedules, ensures that crews perform activities to meet production and quality requirements of the job, and identifies needs and deficiencies in the schedule and communicates these to the appropriate people.
Confers with supervisory personnel to resolve construction problems and improve construction methods.
Directs workers concerned with major maintenance or reconditioning projects for existing installations.
Participates in and promote safety procedures to promote a safe working environment including compliance with all safety rules and regulations.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory Responsibilities: Supervises the duties and responsibilities of field employees at any given time.
Education and/or Experience:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and
  • 3 years of previous bridge and/or heavy highway construction experience; or
  • equivalent combination of education and experience.

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations:
  • Valid NE Driver's License

Other Qualifications
  • Knowledge of project construction scope and objectives with ability to read and understand plans.
  • Must have working knowledge of types of equipment necessary for site project.
  • Must have familiarity with NDOR and City of Lincoln specifications.
  • Must be able to work according to seasonal and order demand schedule; may be required to work a 12-hour shift, and during busy season may be required to work 5 to 6 days a week.
  • Computer literacy required with knowledge of Microsoft Office and the ability to use an iPad preferred.
  • Must be able to secure equipment, loading and unloading equipment and cleaning the equipment.

Other Skills & Abilities:
  • Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written or oral instructions.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of contractors, customers, and the general public.
  • Bilingual skills helpful.
