Job description

Audubon is currently seeking a Rigger to join our team in our Offsite Office. The Riggerswill operatecranes to move heavy equipment or material around a jobsite forthe needintended purpose of the job scope.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Inspecting and preparing material to be moved.
  • Choosing the correct rigging equipment.
  • Erecting mobile cranes and temporary structures.
  • Setting up and operating pulleys, ropes, winches and other lifting gear.
  • Adhering to occupational health and safety procedures.
  • Communicating with the construction team.
  • Dismantling the rigging equipment.
  • Attaches pulley and blocks to fixed overhead structures, such as beams, ceilings and gin pole booms, with bolts
  • Material handlers using hand signals, loudspeaker or telephone, sets up, braces and rigs hoisting equipment

Health, Safety, and Environmental Responsibilities:

  • All employees are responsible for supporting Audubon Companies' Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) policies and procedures. This includes:
  • Performing duties in a manner that protects personal and team health and safety
  • Participating in required HSE training, meetings, and reporting activities
  • Identifying and reporting hazards, near misses, and unsafe conditions

EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Related trade school education is preferred.
  • Five years' experience in the construction industry.
  • Four year' experience in rigging
  • Must be able to obtain site and Safety training certifications required for the project.
  • Construction safety practices.
  • In-depth knowledge of construction procedures, equipment and HSE guidelines.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate and report effectively.
  • Aptitude in math and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to multi-task and work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to read, comprehend and carry out instructions.
  • Ability to work in a team environment as well as independently when required.
  • Ability to motivate, lead, teach and train on proper work and safety procedures.
  • Ability to think analytically, apply sound judgment, and solve problems.
  • Must be able to pass pre-employment screening that includes background and drug testing. Individuals must have a valid driver's license and driving record that meets Company requirements.
