Job description

This is a newly created role!
RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Acquires knowledge of product defects and root cause analysis
  • Acquires knowledge of calculating pass rates
  • Inspects production line and corrects if there are any issues
  • Inspects and approve QC and production paperwork
  • Assists with periodic physical inventory audits (monthly, quarterly, annually)
  • Assist with QC / production trials (weight checks, box weight, mixer checks, etc.)
  • Maintains QC supplies
  • Maintains QC test instruments and assists with calibrations and calibration tracking
  • Trains QC team members and production operators on QC checks and tolerances
  • Fill in for QC operators during PTO or short-staffed
  • Ability to operate a forklift
  • Prepares SOPs
  • Reports quality issues to QC Manager
  • Other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree preferred but Associates degree and / or equivalent years of experience
  • Proven track record in quality improvement
  • Manufacturing experience preferred.
  • Experience of R&D in QC or QA
  • Experience in a manufacturing plant such as machinery, equipment, material or construction manufacturer
  • Trainer experience a plus
  • Quality control and / or quality assurance experience is strongly preferred
  • Knowledge of basic math skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite is a must
  • Knowledge of cost accounting, invest planning and feasibility study
  • Experience of paint color matching
  • Experience of visual inspections

SAFETY:
  • Understands and follow all safety procedures.
    • Current on all safety trainings.
    • Wears all required PPE when necessary (steel toe boots, safety glasses, ear plugs, hard hat or bump cap)
  • Perform duties according to OSHA guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Complete all required General Plant Safety Training as required.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
  • Must be able to lift at least 50lbs and to push-pull up to 75lbs.
  • Must be able to work long periods while continuously standing, twisting, bending, reaching, and stooping.
  • Must be able to go up and down steps and ladders multiple times a day.
  • Must be able to work environment which is dusty and noisy.
  • Must be able to work in plant environment with extreme seasonal temperatures.
