The company currently operates three distribution centers and 11 local locations, with plans to continue expanding its footprint.

The COO will serve as a key member of the executive leadership team, helping evaluate new opportunities, providing operational input into strategic decisions, and ensuring that the company has the processes, systems, infrastructure, and organizational capabilities needed to scale effectively.

This individual will also work closely with key vendors and customers, including major national corporations, and will represent the company in important operational and commercial relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement scalable processes, systems, and operating procedures to support continued growth.
  • Evaluate the company’s operational infrastructure and identify opportunities to improve efficiency, consistency, service levels, and accountability.
  • Work closely with the CEO and executive leadership team on strategic initiatives, growth opportunities, and major business decisions.
  • Provide operational analysis and feedback when evaluating new locations, partnerships, customers, vendors, and other expansion opportunities.
  • Build the operational framework necessary to support the continued expansion of the company’s distribution and branch network.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and vendors, including large national and international organizations.
  • Work closely with major customers to support service requirements and strengthen long-term relationships.
  • Oversee purchasing and inventory-related processes to ensure appropriate product availability while maintaining operational and financial discipline.
  • Ensure effective coordination between purchasing, warehousing, transportation, branches, sales, and other business functions.
  • Oversee company facilities and support the opening, expansion, relocation, and improvement of distribution centers and branch locations.
  • Establish appropriate operating metrics, reporting, controls, and accountability across the organization.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage technology and systems to improve visibility, efficiency, and scalability.
  • Develop and support operational leadership throughout the organization.
  • Foster a culture of ownership, collaboration, responsiveness, and accountability.
Qualifications
  • Senior operational leadership experience within distribution, wholesale, supply chain, logistics, or a related environment.
  • Experience overseeing multiple locations, distribution centers, or a similarly complex operating network.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain, purchasing, inventory management, warehousing, logistics, and facilities.

  • Ability to operate both strategically and hands-on, with a willingness to become closely involved in important operational issues.
  • Experience working with significant vendors, customers, and external business partners.
  • Strong business judgment and the ability to provide meaningful input on growth opportunities and executive-level decisions.
  • Ability to establish processes and accountability without creating unnecessary bureaucracy.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively across all levels of an organization.
  • A high degree of ownership and follow-through.
  • Collaborative leadership style suited to a professional, positive, and team-oriented culture.
