JOB SUMMARY
  • Provide overall project management from estimating and bid preparation through final acceptance.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management (or similar field) or equivalent combination of technical training and/or experience.
  • 3+ years of experience estimating in construction.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor’s degree in construction management or related field is preferred.
  • 5+ years in construction project management is preferred.
  • Previous experience with electrical construction project management is preferred.
  • Familiarity with ACCUBID is preferred.
KEY SKILLS & COMPETENCIES
  • Requires strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to prioritize and complete projects on schedule.
  • Ability to apply effective management techniques to maximize performance.
  • Advanced knowledge and skills in the use of Microsoft Office applications.
  • Demonstrated construction management, estimating, and/or craft supervision experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of construction (technology, equipment, methods); craft agreements, jurisdiction, negotiations, engineering, estimating, schedules, and safety required.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Provide initial client contact to assess the scope of work and resources required to successfully complete project(s).
  • Prepare complete estimates for selected projects which may include a detailed review of specifications, drawings, take-off information, contract requirements, etc.
  • Supervise total construction effort to ensure project is constructed in accordance with design, codes and standards, budget, and schedule, interface with client representatives, other contractors, and other Capital Electric Construction personnel.
  • Plan, coordinate, and supervise on-site functions (scheduling, engineering, material control, etc.).
  • May provide day-to-day direction of on-site administrative staff and work with the on-site Foreman to manage the work of project support personnel.
  • Ensure timely and accurate completion of all project documentation including but not limited to correspondence, billing, purchase orders, change orders, submittals, schedules, etc.
  • Investigate any situations with potential project impacts. Mitigate any situations that may impact the project whenever possible and initiate corrective action as necessary.
  • Ensure company safety policies and procedures are followed. Investigate, report, and correct any safety-related incidents.
  • Provide technical assistance or interpretation as needed.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policies.
  • Initiate and maintain extra work estimating and issuance of change orders.
  • Travel, either local or overnight, may be required and this position is required to drive.
  • Perform other tasks and special projects as assigned.
