Summary:
Kapur is seeking a skilled and experienced Construction Project Leader to manage a department and oversee construction projects for the Indiana Department of Transportation (INDOT). The ideal candidate will have a strong background in construction management, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to completing projects on time.
Responsibilities:
  • Recruit, manage and lead a team of construction technicians.
  • Monitor and execute projects according to plans, specifications, and contract requirements.
  • Follow timelines and budgets, adjusting as necessary to stay on track.
  • Perform sampling and testing of construction materials to verify quality standards are met.
  • Coordinate and oversee the work of assigned technicians to maintain consistency and accuracy in quality control processes.
  • Attend construction status meetings to stay updated on project progress.
  • Address any issues that arise during the construction process and develop solutions to overcome challenges.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field is strongly preferred.
  • 7-12 years of relevant experience is required.
  • INDOT Testing Certification is required.
  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Certified Construction Manager (CCM), Project Management Professional (PMP)) are a plus.
  • Proven experience in construction management or a related field is required.
  • Previous direct INDOT experience preferred.
  • Strong familiarity with construction practices, materials, and safety protocols.
  • Understanding of INDOT regulations and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
