Position Summary
Staley Electric is seeking an organized, motivated, and detail-oriented Construction Project Coordinator to support the successful execution of commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
Reporting directly to the Vice President of Construction, this position serves as a key member of the Construction Team by supporting Project Managers, Estimators, and Field Leadership throughout every phase of a project.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys solving problems, coordinating multiple priorities, working with construction documents, and helping projects succeed from estimating through closeout. It offers an excellent opportunity for professional growth into Assistant Project Management or other construction leadership positions.
Primary Responsibilities
Project Coordination
  • Support Project Managers throughout the lifecycle of commercial and industrial electrical construction projects.
  • Assist with project startup, documentation, and closeout.
  • Maintain organized project files, logs, and correspondence.
  • Coordinate communication between Project Managers, Superintendents, vendors, subcontractors, and clients.
Change Order Administration
  • Prepare, track, and organize change orders.
  • Gather pricing information and supporting documentation.
  • Coordinate approvals and maintain accurate change order logs.
  • Assist Project Managers in maximizing project profitability through timely documentation.
Contract & Scope Support
  • Review owner contracts, subcontract agreements, purchase orders, and project documents.
  • Assist in identifying contract requirements, exclusions, and potential project risks.
  • Prepare and revise detailed scope letters for bids and negotiated work.
  • Help ensure project execution aligns with contractual obligations.
Estimating & Preconstruction Support
  • Perform quantity takeoffs from construction drawings.
  • Assist with bid preparation and proposal development.
  • Review plans, specifications, and addenda.
  • Coordinate vendor pricing and material quotations.
  • Support estimators with project documentation and cost research.
Executive & Department Support
  • Assist the Vice President of Construction with reports, presentations, process improvements, and strategic initiatives.
  • Develop reports and tracking tools to improve departmental efficiency.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives across the Construction Department.
Qualifications
Required
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Exceptional attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, and Adobe Acrobat.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.
Preferred (Not Required)
  • Associate's or Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Business, or a related field.
  • Two or more years of experience supporting commercial construction projects.
  • Experience with electrical construction is preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with estimating software, Bluebeam, Foundation, ConEst, or similar construction software.
  • Understanding of construction contracts, scopes of work, change orders, and project documentation.
