SUMMARY
This position is primarily responsible for managing the construction and deployment of new fiber-based telecommunications networks serving MDU, SMB, and other properties that may require unique right-of-way solutions in Vista and San Marcos, California. The role involves close collaboration with estimating, design, and engineering teams, as well as direct oversight of construction and implementation activities. Responsibilities include managing project costs, schedules, and overall execution to ensure successful delivery of each project.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: What will you be doing?
  • Responsible and accountable for in-scope, schedule, budget, and delivery. Establish the appropriate reporting and metrics to measure, monitor performance against plan, reporting regular status updates to customers, executives and key strategic stakeholders.
  • Leading the end-to-end solution deployment from the network architecture, process and system solutions, construction methodologies, material selection, acquisition and handling, field installation activities, project acceptance activities, training requirements, operational hand-over activities, etc.
  • Responsible for organizational specific health and safety policies and procedures, as well as the safe working behaviors of our vendors and suppliers.
  • Align external resources from a shared or dedicated pool of contractors, material providers and individuals.
  • Building a partnership model, as the team may include company employees from various outside departments as well as outside contractors and engineering firms and must establish and drive clear accountability for all team members and create an environment that enables high performance from the team.
  • Coordinate and manage relationships with engineering and construction vendors, materials suppliers, rights-of-way and municipal, state, and federal authorities, third-party agencies, and utility companies.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: Who will you be in charge of?
  • Overseeing Engineering and Construction vendors, material vendors, and suppliers.

COMPETENCIES: What do you bring to the team?
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent training, certifications, or relevant experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • 5 years of Telecom engineering and construction experience related specifically to ISP and OSP builds of MDU and/or SMB projects.
  • Valid, unrestricted drivers license
  • Ability to speak/write in Spanish and other languages is desirable but not required.
  • Proficient in technology-related skills, including knowledge of Internet Software; Spreadsheet Software (Excel); Word Processing Software (Word); Electronic Mail Software (Outlook); Presentation Software (PowerPoint); Scheduling Software (Project); Design Software (Visio, Vetro, others); GIS Software; Sitetracker; and Project Management and Financial Software (Netsuite)
  • Established expertise in communicating changes and progress; consistently completes projects on time and within budget.
