Job Title: Construction Manager

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Construction Manager to oversee field operations across multiple projects and trades. This role is responsible for driving project execution, supporting field leadership teams, and ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with project requirements. As a leader, you will provide strategic direction, resolve complex construction challenges, build strong client relationships, and identify solutions that support both immediate project needs and long-term business objectives. The Construction Manager will lead a team of Superintendents and project personnel, ensuring compliance with safety standards, quality expectations, schedules, budgets, and client commitments. This position requires strong operational leadership, resource planning expertise, and the ability to manage multiple stakeholders while delivering successful project outcomes.

Responsibilities

  • Provide Superintendents and field teams with the manpower, equipment, materials, and support required to execute projects efficiently and safely.
  • Ensure all work is performed in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, regulatory requirements, and applicable construction standards.
  • Champion a strong safety culture by promoting best practices, addressing escalated safety concerns, and participating in safety initiatives.
  • Lead and support project safety meetings and ensure adherence to health and safety programs.
  • Develop and manage complex construction schedules, coordinating activities across multiple projects and disciplines.
  • Monitor resource requirements and ensure workforce, tools, equipment, and materials are available to meet project timelines.
  • Support preconstruction and estimating activities by providing input on execution strategies, staffing plans, equipment needs, and scheduling.
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and direction to project teams, establishing priorities and allocating resources to achieve operational goals.
  • Oversee subcontractor and supplier selection processes, including procurement, contract negotiations, and performance management.
  • Contribute to the development and continuous improvement of construction procedures, quality programs, and operational standards.

Essential Skills

  • Minimum 10 years of experience in powerline construction, including leadership responsibilities within large-scale construction projects.
  • Post-secondary education in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methodologies, contract administration, project controls, budgeting, and cost management.
  • Ability to evaluate complex situations, identify key issues, and implement practical solutions that support project and business objectives.
  • Proven success building and maintaining relationships with clients, subcontractors, suppliers, and industry stakeholders.
  • Strong leadership, coaching, and team development skills with a demonstrated ability to lead high-performing teams.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Experience managing large project teams while fostering collaboration and accountability.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.

This is a Permanent position based out of Milton, ON.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $81.00 - $96.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
