DUTIES: Areas of focus will be: representing the project owner in daily oversight of construction activities; coordinating the activities of owner, designer, construction contractor, public utility, and third party/abutter personnel; monitoring and advising the owner on project budget and schedule status; analyzing, estimating, and negotiating potential change orders and claims; contract administration; identifying and resolving construction problems and challenges in the field; inspecting work performed by construction contractors to ensure conformance with contract plans and specification; reporting daily progress; tracking and documenting quantities of work performed; and other oversight and reporting responsibilities as assigned. Candidates shall have knowledge of construction means and methods, materials, strong communication skills, documentation control, ability to read and interpret plans and specifications and to perform quantity takeoffs/calculations.
QUALIFICATIONS: Experience in managing, inspecting, testing, and coordinating construction projects is a must. Candidates must be fully proficient in the use of computers including MS Word, Excel and construction reporting/quantity tracking software. Must have effective written and oral communication skills, be eager to learn, willing to perform a variety of tasks and be a team player.
A minimum of three years of experience in airport, water/wastewater, civil, highway, facility or a relevant construction field is required, with two years in a field construction management capacity. Any of the following Professional certifications are strongly preferred: PE, CCM, EIT, CMIT, CACM; NICET; NETTCP; ACI; NACE; AWS/CWI; ATSSA Traffic Control Supervisor.
Bachelor of Science Degree (BS) or Associates Degree in a relevant field is strongly preferred.
Employees assigned to driving duties ("drivers") must have a current, valid US State driver's license and have a satisfactory driving record in accordance with Keville's driving policy. OSHA 10 certification is a condition of employment.
