Job description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Field Construction Manager to join our team for a large-scale fiber to the home deployment project. The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day field operations, develops project plans, and monitors performance. Recognized as an expert, they anticipate client needs and provide solutions, sharing expertise and mentoring colleagues. This fiber work is to be done in the central Illinois territory.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Will ensure projects meet approved plans, specifications, and building codes
  • Leads the development of Project Quality Plans and Safety Programs, and oversees incident investigations
  • Reviews and updates construction schedules, addresses delays, and contributes to project schedules
  • Estimates activity durations and materials for complex projects
  • Working knowledge of reporting and tracking of financial aspects of the project
  • Participates in subcontractor and supplier selection, procurement and negotiations
  • Will set priorities and allocate resources as needed for the entire field team
  • Provides leadership and mentorship to project staff and Superintendents

Qualifications:

  • Three or more years of experience in as a Telecommunications construction Superintendent
  • Experience in aerial fiber construction is required
  • Post-secondary education in Construction, Engineering, or a related discipline is an asset
  • Comprehensive knowledge of construction documents, drawings, specifications, and current construction practices
  • Effective Communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to directly supervise craft employees as well as sub-contractors
  • Problem-solving abilities and the capacity to anticipate and address issues
  • Strong organizational and planning skills

Working Conditions:

  • This is a site-based position
  • Travel required throughout the state of Illinois

Compensation

$62,400-$85,000 USD Annual

Site or project-based roles may be eligible for additional pay elements.

This is the expected base pay range for this role. Individual base pay will be determined based on a variety of factors including experience, knowledge, skills, education and location.
