Job Summary

The Substation Leadman supervises and assists with the day-to-day activities of the substation employees and the project to which they are assigned, reports directly to Foreman assigned to the project. Leadman must be able to perform the various duties while on the job from Groundman to Journeyman.


Responsibilities

• Supervise and coordinate all construction activities.

• Direct, coach and guide all staff assigned to the project.
• Ensure project materials and workmanship meets the project quality standards and design requirements.
• Review and address plan details, resolve issues before they result in added budget expenditures.
• Advise Foreman of any potential problems, work interferences or schedule difficulties while assisting in circumventing/resolving such conflicts.
• Enforce site specific plans and procedures that are in line with EEI’s culture and safety requirements; adheres to EEI’s Safety First Culture.
• Shows commitment to EEI’s Safety culture through personal behavior and willingness to influence others.
• Understands and complies with Company’s Code of Business Conduct and Ethics.
• Maintain the project’s daily job diary.
• A working knowledge of computer operations and programs.
• Other tasks as assigned by Management.

Minimum Qualifications

• Must have previous experience leading a crew(s) building substations.

• Must be willing to travel around Central US.

Preferred Qualifications

• OSHA 30.

Physical Demands and Work Environment

This job operates in a field environment. This role routinely requires extended periods of bending, squatting, climbing, kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting, lifting in awkward positions, standing, and twisting. Also, working in inclement weather conditions, such as extreme heat, extreme cold, rain, ice, snow, and wind.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position is physically active, with lifting required. Must be able to bend and lift and carry up to 50 pounds. Clarity of vision at 20 feet or more or 20 inches or less, with the ability to judge distance and space relationships. Precise hand-eye coordination. Ability to identify and distinguish colors.
