Construction Superintendent

Responsibilities

As a Construction Superintendent, your key responsibility will be to serve as a vital team member working closely with the Project Manager and the entire Project Team resulting in completion of the project on time, under budget, and with quality that exceeds the expectations of F.A. Wilhelm and our Clients.             

A.      Personnel

  • Determine field personnel needs and assign work based on the project.
  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule activities of field personnel and subcontractors.
  • Plan and coordinate all phases of the project with Project and Operations Managers.
  • Inspect, approve, and report all labor time.        

B.      Safety

  • Monitor jobsite safety and take appropriate action to address and correct safety deficiencies.
  • Conduct weekly "Toolbox Talks" and maintain all associated reports.
  • Investigate and report any accident or incident to Risk Management, Corporate Safety Director, and Project Manager.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations including safety, health, and welfare.       

C.     Jobsite

  • Train field personnel in construction methods, operation of equipment, safety procedures and company policies.
  • Create and accurately maintain cost/labor reports, maintain field P.O.'s and rental logs.
  • Ensure all equipment, vehicles, and machinery are properly maintained.  Arrange for repairs/replacements, as necessary.
  • Routinely inspect the construction site and work progress to maintain compliance with contract specifications along with company quality and safety standards.

What it takes

  • 10 years of field construction experience
  • Knowledgeable of Construction methods
  • Osha 30 certification preferred.
