Job description

Alfred Williams & Company is seeking a motivated Installer to join our Austin team. This role is responsible for the installation of commercial furniture systems and DIRTT modular interior construction solutions, helping deliver exceptional workplace environments for our clients.

The ideal candidate has experience in commercial furniture installation, construction trades, or both, and takes pride in producing high-quality work while providing outstanding customer service. This position requires teamwork, attention to detail and the ability to adapt to a variety of project environments.

Essential Job Responsibilities
  • Install commercial furniture systems, seating andย accessories according to installation drawings and project specifications.
  • Install DIRTT modular construction systems, including solid walls, glass walls, doors, hardware, millwork, power and data componentsย and other interior architectural products.
  • Read and interpret installation drawings, blueprintsย and project plans.
  • Load, transport, unload, and organize furniture, construction materialsย and equipment between the warehouse and project sites.
  • Safely operate company vehicles and maintain a clean, organized work environment.
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and construction equipment safely and effectively.
  • Ensure all installations meet Alfred Williams & Company's quality standards and client expectations.
  • Follow OSHA safety requirements and properly utilize all required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
  • Communicate professionally with customers, project managers, and fellow installers throughout each project.
  • Identify punch list items or field issues and communicate them promptly to the Project Manager.
  • Complete required project documentation, including customer sign-offs upon project completion.
  • Assist with warehouse organization, material staging, and inventory handling as needed.
  • Travel to project sites and work overtime when required to meet project schedules.
Required
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
  • Ability to lift and carry at least 50 pounds on a regular basis.
  • Ability to climb ladders, work from lifts, and perform physically demanding work throughout the day.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
  • Ability to read and interpret installation drawings or construction documents.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexibility to work overtime and occasional travel as project schedules require.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
Preferred
  • Experience installing commercial office furniture.
  • Experience with DIRTT modular construction systems.
  • Experience in commercial construction, carpentry, millwork, drywall, glazing, or architectural products.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification.
  • Forklift and/or scissor lift certification.
  • Knowledge of ADA requirements and commercial construction best practices.
