Job Summary:

As a Power Helper, your role is crucial in assisting with various tasks related to power distribution and maintenance. You will work under the supervision of experienced technicians and foremen to support the installation, repair, and maintenance of electrical systems and equipment. Your responsibilities will include helping with handling tools and equipment, ensuring the cleanliness and organization of work areas, and adhering to safety protocols and guidelines. Additionally, you will assist in conducting inspections, preparing materials, and performing tasks as directed to facilitate efficient operations. Your role as a Power Helper is pivotal in contributing to the overall effectiveness and safety of power-related projects and activities.

Essential Functions: 

  • Deliver exceptional customer service, ensuring each customer is greeted with a positive attitude.
  • Maintain high standards of product quality during delivery to customers.
  • Handle and operate electrical equipment proficiently, distinguishing between power poles and black diamond poles and panels.
  • Demonstrate understanding of various aspects of electrical power systems.
  • Ensure the safe and efficient operation of company tools and equipment.
  • Keep all equipment and tools in optimal working condition.
  • Adhere strictly to all safety instructions and directives.
  • Identify and avoid handling energized (HOT) electrical lines, circuits, or equipment.
  • Prevent team members from working on energized (HOT) electrical lines, circuits, or equipment.
  • Maintain a safe and clean work area, consistently performing duties safely.
  • Attending all required tailgate and trimester/quarterly safety meetings.

Qualifications:

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience in a related field is beneficial.
  • Basic knowledge of electrical systems and equipment.
  • Duties require frequent lifting up to 25 pounds with occasional lifting between 50 and 100 pounds (2 person lifting requirements of over 100 pounds). The work environment includes exposure to electrical shock, vibration, and inclement weather
  • Knowledge of safety protocols and practices related to electrical work.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment under supervision.
  • Forklift certification provided or required after hire.
