Job description

We are currently seeking a qualified person to fill the position of Carpenter Helper. Qualified candidate should have a minimum of 2 years experience as a Laborer.
Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Assists Carpenters in the accurate setting of both wood and steel concrete forms on grade. Some vertical forming required.
  • Assists with building forms for pouring concrete.
  • Assists carpenters in the squaring of forms
  • Prepares work area by transporting needed tools and equipment from storage facility.
  • Loads and unloads building materials to be used on construction projects.
  • Builds and disassembles scaffolding, bracing, and other temporary structures used on construction sites.
  • Removes debris and possible hazards to keep construction sites clean and safe.
  • Digs trenches and holes needed in construction projects.
  • Keep machines serviced.
  • Cutting and carrying of lumber
  • Light slab preparation and rebar tying.
  • Repeated standing, bending, pushing and pulling for a minimum of eight (8) hours a day.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
  • Ability to follow instructions from supervisors, foremen, and carpenters.
  • Knowledge of carpentry and construction techniques and procedures.
  • Ability to perform basic math.

Education and Experience:
  • Minimum of 2 years experience as a Laborer.
  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • On-the-job training offered.
Physical Requirements:
  • Prolonged periods standing and working outside.
  • Physically able to perform assigned tasks.
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds at a time.
