Get Paid to Travel and Build Your Career

This is a hands-on, site-based role for someone who wants to travel, earn well, and build toward a leadership career in industrial construction — not sit behind a desk. While on assignment, JGM covers you:

  • $120/day per diem, paid 7 days a week — not just workdays
  • Per diem alone adds up to roughly $840/week (~$3,600/month) in additional income while you're in the field — on top of your base salary

(Actual per diem totals depend on time spent on active assignment. Figures above are illustrative, not guaranteed.)

Your Career Path Starts Here

This role is the entry point into JGM's field leadership track. Field Engineers who perform well are developed into Superintendents and Project Managers — not just told there's "room to grow." Annual merit reviews and advancement are tied directly to demonstrated field performance and project responsibility, so your next step is based on what you do, not just tenure.

The Kind of Work You'll Be Doing

JGM self-performs complex industrial and heavy construction work, including:

  • Structural steel erection
  • Mechanical installation and process piping
  • Equipment setting and millwright work

You'll work across industries like metals & steel, power generation, mining & minerals, oil/gas & chemical, food & beverage, pharmaceuticals, and bridge/highway/building infrastructure — the kind of projects most engineers only read about.

What You'll Do Day to Day

  • Support daily site operations alongside Superintendents and Project Managers, from mobilization through project completion
  • Track and manage RFIs, submittals, and shop drawings
  • Monitor progress against the schedule and flag issues before they become delays
  • Walk the site regularly to verify work matches plans and quality standards
  • Help keep the job running safely, on schedule, and on budget

What We're Looking For

  • Background in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent field experience or related education)
  • Comfortable with heavy travel and extended hours during active project phases
  • Currently working as a Project Engineer, Construction Engineer, Field Engineer, or Assistant Superintendent looking for a clearer path up? This is that role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and project documentation
  • OSHA 30 certification preferred (OSHA 10 considered with willingness to obtain OSHA 30)
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to thrive in fast-paced construction environments and adapt to changing field conditions
  • Willingness to travel nationwide and work extended hours as project demands requires

Preferred

  • Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or related field
  • Minimum 2 years of industrial construction field experience, preferably in structural steel, mechanical, piping, or process work
  • Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software

Benefits

  • Per diem paid 7 days/week on assignment + 100% travel reimbursement
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Paid Time Off & Company Holidays
  • Life Insurance, Short & Long-Term Disability
  • Employee Assistance Program (EAP)
  • Referral Bonus Program
  • Paid Training & Continuing Education
  • Defined career path into senior field leadership and Project Management roles

What We Offer

  • Competitive Base Salary
  • Per Diem Paid 7 Days Per Week on Project Assignments
  • 100% Travel Reimbursement
  • Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
  • 401(k) with Company Match
  • Paid Time Off & Company Holidays
