Job Description

AECOM is currently seeking a highly experienced CEI Senior Project Engineer to support and oversee a variety of transportation and infrastructure projects within the Fort Lauderdale, Florida region. This role will be responsible for providing technical expertise, leadership, and construction engineering inspection support to ensure projects are delivered in accordance with contract requirements, quality standards, and schedules.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to: 

  • Directing a highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program
  • Planning and organizing the work of subordinate and staff members
  • Developing and/or reviewing policies, methods, practices, and procedures
  • Reviewing programs for conformance with Department standards
  • Supports, oversees and coordinates engineering production activities for an operating unit
  • Makes decisions and recommendations that are recognized as authoritative
  • Initiates and maintains contact with senior-level management within the company and is skilled in dispute resolution and negotiation of critical issues
  • Supervision received is essentially administrative with assignments given in terms of broad general objectives and limits
  • Directing a highly complex and specialized construction engineering administration and inspection program
  • Planning and organizing the work of subordinate and staff members
  • Developing and/or reviewing policies, methods, practices, and procedures
  • Reviewing programs for conformance with Department standards
  • Under minimal supervision, performs complex duties utilizing advanced techniques and diversified knowledge of engineering principles and methods
  • Assumes lead responsibilities for a team of engineers and professional support staff
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree plus 10 years of related experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
  • Valid US Driver’s License required to visit project sites, clients, and other AECOM offices. As a condition of employment, selected candidate must pass a Motor Vehicle Records review
  • Due to the nature of the projects a US Citizenship is required 
  • Professional Engineer (PE) and the ability to obtain endorsement in the State of Florida within six months of Project NTP if registered in another state

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master's Degree in Engineering   
  • Proficient with project delivery requirements, creativity, foresight, working with a multi-disciplinary team to meet project goals and deliver high quality technical excellence
  • Demonstrates strong judgment in proactively identifying and solving routine and non-routine operational challenges, establishing operational objectives and requirements, organizing programs and projects, and developing standards and guidance across diverse engineering functions
  • FDOT Advanced MOT
  • CTQP Quality Control Manager
  • Six years of engineering experience, two of those years involved in relevant transportation projects
