Project Engineer - Commercial Construction

About the Role
McDonald York is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of commercial construction projects across a variety of sectors.
This role works closely with Project Managers and Superintendents to coordinate documentation, subcontractors, and project processes-helping keep projects organized, on track, and moving forward.
You'll have the opportunity to gain experience across a range of project types, including complex and technical environments such as life sciences and healthcare.
What You'll Do
  • Support project execution from start to finish, including scheduling and coordination
  • Manage submittals, RFIs, and project documentation
  • Assist with pay applications, cost tracking, and budget monitoring
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, and internal teams
  • Track and manage change orders and project updates
  • Participate in project meetings and maintain clear communication across teams

  • 1-5 years of construction experience (or relevant internship experience)
  • Degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred
  • Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through
