Job description

Build Your Career With Ascent

Ascent Construction Group is seeking an experienced Superintendent to lead daily field operations on an assigned project in Fort Lauderdale. This is an opportunity for a hands-on construction leader who takes ownership, communicates clearly, solves problems early, and knows how to move a project forward without compromising safety or quality.

At Ascent, we are large enough to serve complex projects and small enough to care about every detail, every relationship, and every member of our team. We challenge convention, pursue continuous improvement, and never settle for the status quo.

What You'll Do

•     Lead daily jobsite operations and coordinate subcontractors, self-performing crews, vendors, deliveries, equipment, and inspections.

•     Drive short-term planning and look-ahead schedules in alignment with the master project schedule.

•     Maintain safe, productive, clean, secure, and professionally organized jobsite conditions.

•     Enforce company, client, and regulatory safety requirements and promptly close corrective actions.

•     Monitor quality and confirm work complies with plans, specifications, approved submittals, and Ascent standards.

•     Review drawings, RFIs, submittals, and change information before installation and elevate conflicts before they affect production.

•     Maintain accurate daily reports, photographs, manpower counts, delivery records, delay documentation, and issue logs.

•     Partner with the Project Manager on procurement, schedule risks, change management, cost impacts, and client communication.

•     Lead field meetings, resolve coordination issues, and hold project participants accountable for commitments.

•     Drive punch-list completion, closeout, inspections, commissioning support, and final turnover.

•     Coach and develop Assistant Superintendents, Field Coordinators, Foremen, and assigned field personnel.

What We're Looking For

•     5+ years of progressive commercial construction field experience, including coordination of multiple trades.

•     Experience as a Superintendent, Assistant Superintendent, or comparable field leader on projects of similar size and complexity.

•     Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, drawings, specifications, sequencing, logistics, scheduling, quality control, and inspections.

•     Demonstrated ability to lead teams, manage subcontractors, maintain accountability, and solve field issues decisively.

•     Working proficiency with Procore, Bluebeam, Microsoft Office, and construction scheduling or field-management software.

•     OSHA 30 certification preferred; South Florida construction, permitting, weather-planning, and inspection experience is a plus.

•     Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for project-related travel.

What Success Looks Like

•     Project milestones and look-ahead commitments are consistently achieved.

•     Safety expectations are visible, documented, and reinforced every day.

•     Work is completed right the first time, with deficiencies and rework minimized.

•     Trades, inspections, logistics, manpower, materials, and field resources remain coordinated.

•     Field reports and issue escalation are accurate, timely, and actionable.

•     The client experiences a professional jobsite and a successful closeout and turnover.

Compensation and Opportunity

•     Base Salary: $80,000-$110,000 annually, based on experience, qualifications, and assigned project responsibilities.

•     Employment: Full-time, salaried position based on an active construction site in Fort Lauderdale.

•     Growth: Opportunity to advance within a growing South Florida construction company that values strong field leadership, accountability, and continuous improvement.

Ready to Build With Us?

If you are a field leader who takes pride in safe execution, disciplined planning, quality work, and strong team coordination, we want to hear from you. Apply with your resume and a brief summary of the projects you have led.
