Job description

We are seeking a Construction Engineer with experience supporting civil infrastructure and public works projects. This role is responsible for coordinating construction activities, supporting project execution, and ensuring alignment with design intent, safety standards, and quality requirements. The ideal candidate brings a strong understanding of construction processes, project coordination, and stakeholder communication within complex environments.

Responsibilities:

  • Support construction planning and execution across civil infrastructure and site development projects
  • Coordinate with contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and field teams to ensure efficient project delivery
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, and project schedules for accuracy and constructability
  • Monitor construction progress and provide regular updates on project status, risks, and milestones
  • Assist with resolving field issues, RFIs, and design clarifications in collaboration with engineering teams
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, regulatory requirements, and project-specific quality controls
  • Participate in site visits and inspections to verify work completed aligns with project specifications
  • Support documentation management including reports, schedules, and construction records

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Construction Engineering or a related field
  • 4+ years of experience supporting construction or civil infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and project coordination
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering plans, specifications, and schedules
  • Experience coordinating with multiple stakeholders including contractors and field personnel
  • Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working on public agency or infrastructure projects
  • Familiarity with construction management software or scheduling tools
  • Engineer-in-Training (EIT) certification or progression toward licensure
  • Experience supporting RFIs, submittals, and construction documentation

  • Base Salary: $68,000 – $72,000
