Summary

The CAD Manager is responsible for leading the CAD drafting team.


Essential Functions

  • Ensures team performs a wide range of drafting tasks
  • Ensure team prepares plans, layouts, as-builts and detailed drawings
  • Assumes responsibility of knowing building codes, development of details and the organization of construction documents
  • Revises existing drawings as required and corrects “as-built” drawings
  • Conceptualizes, designs and communicates in CAD using current industry standards
  • Maintains design and drawing archives and revision history
  • Scales drawings to create shop drawings
  • Organizes project folders for easy and faster access of the projects
  • Applies technical design, knowledge and practices to accomplish technical drawings and assignments
  • Creates new drawings and edits existing drawings

Required Qualifications

  • 2 year Technical degree; A.A.S. degree in drafting or equivalent
  • 5+ years of Drafting experience
  • Full understanding of CAD software
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office and have database knowledge
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Good mathematical background to handle common calculations
  • Willing to learn new skills and work as a team to meet deadlines
  • Proficient knowledge in AutoCAD, preferably 2011
  • Ability to follow instructions and the department’s drawing standard
  • Ability to work on multiple projects in different phases at one time

 

Desired/Preferred Qualifications

  • Electrical and Telecom/Networking industry experience
  • 2 + years experience preparing CAD drawings
  • Supervisory experience

Pay Range

$105,000 - $120,000

Base pay ranges are estimated. Actual base pay will be based on education, experience, location, certifications, skill set, and any other relevant factors. Incentive/variable pay opportunities are in addition to base pay.
