Job Description:

Parsons is looking for a technical oversight quality consultant to join our team helping the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority (LA Metro) implement their quality management system (QMS). The QMS guides the quality for the design and construction of LA Metro capital projects including subway train, light rail train, bus rapid transit, portal/turnback facilities, and stations. This role requires a person do to be onsite five days per week in Los Angeles.

Parsons software, PAR-PRO, is deployed on the project which has several modules used by LA Metro to implement their QMS. The successful candidate will be trained to be an expert in PAR-PRO.

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assisting the project manager implement the requirements of the contract. The PM is located in Denver, Colorado and needs assistance locally in LA.
  • Acting as a quality management oversight coordinator for the LA Metro North Hollywood Bus Raid Transit project. This includes:
    • Working closely with the LA Metro quality manager.
    • Promoting implementation of the LA Metro QMS.
    • Assisting the quality manager with implantation of the program.
    • Conducting audits or assessments of the designers and constructors.
    • Preparing monthly quality reports.
    • Preparing quarterly quality reviews.
    • Training personnel in the QMS.
    • Helping users with PAR-PRO.
  • Attending biweekly meetings at LA Metro quality department headquarters in downtown LA.
  • Administering PAR-PRO software which includes:
    • Adding new users.
    • Troubleshooting bugs and working with the developer to fix.
    • Testing developer enhancements.
    • Training users.
    • Responding to Help Desk tickets.
  • PAR-PRO includes a database of contractual requirements that are added to assessments creating a workflow between LA Metro and their designers and contractors. Requirements must be extracted from documents and uploaded to the PAR-PRO database.
  • Identifying business opportunities with LA Metro.
