Job description

Skilled Construction Laborer

San Francisco/Bay Area - Full Time

Salary Range: $50,000 to $70,000 based on experience and skill level.

Position Overview

The Laborer / Skilled Laborer position reports to the Project Manager, Superintendent, and

Assistant Project Manager-Superintendent on the job site s/he is assigned to. This position is responsible for all necessary manual construction labor, housekeeping, safety, and any assistance required by the jobsite supervisor.

Key Responsibilities

As a Skilled Laborer, you’ll be responsible for:

  • Clean and prepare construction sites, including laying and removing protection, clearing and hauling debris, and any other tasks as required by the supervisor
  • Maintain a safe and clean job site by handling materials and storing them properly, picking up and removing all tools and equipment when not in use, and securing the jobsite daily
  • Operate a variety of basic hand and power tools, as directed by the supervisor
  • Unload and load materials, assist in demolition, digging trenches, working with concrete, raising and taking down structures such as scaffolding and other construction manual labor as required by the jobsite supervisor.
  • Help maintain site safety throughout the construction process by maintaining equipment, removing possible hazards, from the site, and cleaning up materials that contractors leave behind.
  • Follow all safety procedures on the job site and report violations or incidents immediately to supervisor or management
  • Install traffic control devices or direct traffic.
  • Assist driver and carpenter as directed by the supervisor.
  • Pick up and deliver materials, if required

What You Need to Succeed

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, dependable, and committed to quality. The ideal candidate will:

  • Be a responsible individual capable of teamwork, showing up on time, and working hard.
  • Be able to communicate in English.
  • Have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation to job sites located in San Francisco and East Bay Area
  • Possess the mechanical aptitude to safely use basic hand tools (hammer, screwdriver, tape measure, shovel, etc.). Skilled Laborer must also be able to use hand-held power tools
  • Have drills, various types of saws, Sawzall, etc.
