Onsite Position in Carson City, NV (20 minutes from Reno and Sparks)

Full-Time
Environmental Protection Services (EPS) is seeking a disciplined, hands-on Controller to lead and manage the company's financial operations. This role is ideal for a construction-accounting professional who thrives in a structured environment and is ready to take ownership of financial reporting, job costing accuracy, KPI reporting, and internal controls.
The Controller will be co-managed by the Group Controller and President and serve as a key financial partner to operations leadership, stakeholders and investors.
Position Overview
The Controller will oversee daily accounting operations while building financial visibility tools that support profitability and long-term growth. This position requires strong construction GAP accounting experience, job costing, inventory management, and compliance oversight. This role also leads the company's accounting and administrative division, ensuring strong coordination between financial, HR, and procurement functions.
Leadership Responsibilities
The Controller will oversee and manage:
  • Human Resources Representative
  • Accounts Receivable Representative
  • Accounts Payable Representative
  • Procurement Manager
This role is responsible for creating structure, accountability, workflow alignment, and performance standards across the division.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reporting
  • Oversee full-cycle accounting and month-end close
  • Prepare accurate monthly financial statements
  • Ensure job-cost accuracy
  • Manage inventory controls and cost alignment
KPI Development & Performance Metrics
  • Maintain company-wide financial KPIs
  • Track gross margin by project and division
  • Monitor labor productivity and burden rates
  • Manage cash flow forecasting models
  • Deliver monthly financial dashboards to ownership
  • Identify margin erosion and operational inefficiencies
Construction Accounting Oversight
  • Ensure alignment between vendor invoices and customer billing
  • Monitor cost overruns and job performance
  • Support project managers with financial reporting tools
  • Strengthen job-cost coding and internal controls
Internal Controls & Compliance
  • Establish and enforce financial controls
  • Coordinate with external CPA for tax and year-end reporting
  • Attend weekly accounting meetings
  • Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Oversee all insurance reporting and audit requirements (Not employee related)
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
  • 5–8+ years of accounting experience
  • Strong construction accounting experience required
  • Demonstrated experience with job costing
  • Experience with KPI dashboards and financial reporting systems
  • Experience managing or supervising staff
  • QuickBooks Online experience a MUST
  • CPA strongly preferred.
