Job description

Position Summary:
Supports the Chief Financial Officer Director in managing the Club’s fiscal operations, including budgeting, accounting, compliance, analysis, and auditing. Performs general accounting functions.
Essential Responsibilities:
  • Supervises daily activities, development and performance of accounting staff.
  • Prepares analysis reports for use by management, the Board of Governors and Committees.
  • Ensures adherence to city, state, and federal laws, regulations, GAAP and internal policies.
  • Monitors licensing compliance throughout the club.
  • Accurately reconciles bank and balance sheet accounts monthly.
  • Prepares and ensures timely financial statements, including related analysis and journal entries.
  • Liaison with all departments for general accounting questions and resolution of issues.
  • Prepares and distributes daily revenue and payroll flash reports to management.
  • Assists CFO in preparation of annual budgets. 
  • Assist in preparation of tax returns.  Respond to government tax inquiries as needed.
  • Reviews and analyzes bi-weekly payroll.
  • Participates in annual financial audit, including preparation of required documentation and analysis.
  • Reviews vendor and corporate credit card payments for accuracy and policy compliance.
  • Maintains fixed asset ledger system.  Adds and disposes of club assets in a timely manner.
  • Verifies physical inventories including beverages, food, pro shop merchandise and supplies.
  • Acts as back-up for Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable positions.
  • Tracks and monitors construction projects as needed.
  • Trains and mentors Accounting staff to ensure their development and success.

Physical Requirements:
  • Requires extended periods of sitting in a stationary position, working at a computer.
  • Constantly operates a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine, and computer printer.
  • The person in this position frequently interacts with staff, members and vendors regarding financial transactions.  Must be able to communicate effectively in these situations.

Education & Work Experience Requirements:
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, five years relevant management experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Florida CPA certification and hospitality experience preferred.
