Job description

Join Butterfly Staffing for a rewarding opportunity in Construction specializing for Federal Projects in the Norfolk/Washington DC/Metro Area for this Direct Hire opportunity. As a Quality Control Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring compliance with owner/architect and government specifications, codes, regulations, and requirements. Be the primary point of contact for all quality control matters and contribute to the success of our client's projects.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage the quality control staff and specialty subcontractor inspection entities to ensure compliance with specifications, codes, regulations, and requirements.
  • Ensure that the quality standards outlined in the contract are met.
  • Act as the primary liaison with the Owner (private or federal) for quality control-related issues.
  • Implement and manage the keeping of all quality control records and ensure required reporting is accomplished.
  • Plan, schedule, and coordinate preparatory, initial, and follow-up audits/inspections, ensuring proper documentation.
  • Define corrective measures for identified problem areas.
  • Report results to respective superintendents promptly and initiate follow-up corrective actions and re-inspections for discovered deficiencies.
  • Assist the Project Safety Coordinator in implementing and enforcing safety programs to maintain a safe and healthy work environment.
  • Continuously expand and update professional knowledge, enhancing individual and team innovation and productivity.
  • Conduct employee audits during material receipt, fabrication, and installation, verifying adherence to company QC processes and procedures.
  • Develop employee training and quality improvement initiatives as detailed in project plans and specifications.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a QC Representative/Superintendent on Federal Installations, with experience on projects $500,000+ (NAVFAC experience preferred).
  • Familiarity with EM 385-1-1 and experience in hazard identification, safety compliance, and sustainability.
  • Ability and willingness to pass a background check for work on Federal Installations (RAPIDGate).
  • Training/Education related to process system Quality Control.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid driver's license and all necessary certifications for working on a government base.
  • Minimum of 5 years of construction experience.
  • Superior knowledge of quality control program components, building codes, and technical standards.
  • Ability to read and interpret plans and specifications.
  • Capable of planning and coordinating the activities of others with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Working knowledge of the company's computer system and software applications, including MS OFFICE and Adobe.
