As a Security Officer Dispatch Console Operator in Norfolk, VA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Tech/Media/Telecom, and more. As a Dispatch Security Professional in a dynamic technology, media, and telecommunications location, you will coordinate communications, monitor activity, dispatch resources, and support timely responses to security-related situations. You will help maintain an organized environment through clear communication, strong customer service, and professional presence. What You'll Do:
  • Provide customer service to employees, visitors, vendors, and contractors at a telecommunications and media operations location by carrying out security-related procedures, site-specific policies, and emergency response activities when appropriate.
  • Receive, prioritize, document, and dispatch security-related service requests, alarms, incidents, and critical communications to appropriate personnel and/or responders.
  • Monitor communication systems, access activity, cameras, and other site systems as assigned; maintain accurate dispatch logs, incident records, and shift reports.
  • Respond to incidents and critical situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, communicate updates to site leadership and/or emergency responders, and follow established escalation procedures.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the business and perimeter as assigned; working environments and conditions may vary by location.

Minimum Requirements:
  • A guard card or license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
