Position Title: Account Manager
Reports to: Sales Manager / VP, Sales & Marketing
Summary:
Develops and maintains strong relationships with new and existing customers to increase and develop new revenue streams. Ensures that JX products and service consistently meets market needs. Coordinates the sales process for effective customer support. Reports on sales activities and assists in both short- and long-term planning for profitable growth. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and perform a wide variety of tasks to accomplish goals.
Essential duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:
Sales Activities
  • Prospects for new product sales and new customers to generate relevant leads.
  • Maintains relationships and key contacts (Purchasing, Quality, Engineering, etc.) with current and potential accounts.
  • Process requests for quotations (RFQ) by qualifying the customer inquiry and requirements.
  • Issue price quotations and follow-up with appropriate disposition.
  • Coordinate on-site visits and technical support with engineering when required.
  • Handle normal negotiations, such as payment, delivery, purchase/sales conditions, etc.
  • Manage annual bids and help develop strategy and tactics for successful execution.
  • Monitor accounts and market to understand competitive situation.
  • Represent JX at trade fairs, conferences, and social events.

Customer Support and Satisfaction
  • Manage customer expectations related to product performance, quality, delivery, and price.
  • Manage and drive executive engagement via semi-annual or annual Supplier Business Reviews.
  • Effective handling of customer issues, problems, and complaints.
  • Respond to customer requests in a timely fashion.
  • Facilitate the drawing and specification review process.
  • Process post use customer support inquiries via the requests for information (RFI) process.
  • Receive, research, and respond to supplier performance evaluations.

Planning and Reporting
  • Priority setting for daily, weekly, and monthly activities, including customer visits and agenda.
  • Monthly forecasting of shipment quantities and analysis of changes and/or discrepancies.
  • Semi-annual budgeting (Quantity & Pricing) for short, medium, and long-term horizons.
  • Perform and distribute incisive and insightful market and competitive research.
  • Writing and distributing sales memos to global team.
  • Monthly reporting of pertinent topics to Sales Manager.
  • Read industry news and report relevant market and technology developments.
  • Planning of personal goals, business initiatives, and product improvements.

Sustaining and Improvement
  • Communicate customer issues and trends in a timely manner and escalate if necessary.
  • Maintain accurate client records, keeping track of any contract updates and renewals.
  • Work with sales management and other internal teams to develop strategic marketing plans and ensure KPIs are being met.
  • Provide customer feedback on new and existing products.
  • Suggest new products and potential improvements to existing products.
  • Monitor customer payments and aid when delays are identified.
  • Verify consignment inventory levels through system checks and physical audits.
  • Participate in and contribute to continuous improvement projects related to the sales process.
  • Periodic sales database updates/housecleaning (RFQ, Quotes, RFI, etc.).
  • Prepares and submits expense reports in a timely manner.

Education/Experience
Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university and at least 8 years of experience in the field or in a related area; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiar with a variety of the field's concepts, practices, and procedures. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
