Job description

Summary

The successful candidate will partner with key stakeholders to create and deploy global sourcing strategies to drive world class supply chain performance and create and manage strategic supplier partnerships to ensure continuous performance expectations are met and productivity and cost targets are achieved. They will be responsible for negotiating with dedicated suppliers to achieve the optimal contractual outcomes while ensuring internal and external customer satisfaction.


Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Define supplier strategy including management and optimization of supplier channels. Lead negotiations and allocate commodity needs to specific suppliers.
  • Partner with key stakeholders including Engineering, Supply Chain and Purchasing Professionals to drive world class supply chain performance.
  • Lead and execute master supply agreement with strategic partners in all commodities including distributors, manufacturers, and contract manufacturers. Ensure suppliers comply to Dialight’s global compliance policy with periodical audits and validation.
  • Lead supplier quality audits with partnership with Quality Assurance department. Manage supplier scorecard and hold QBR with key suppliers.
  • Communicate and present opportunities and risks of the category to upper management, site management, and peers, and leverage resources internally and externally to deliver business outcomes.
  • Manage supply chain risk and product EOL (End of Life) to ensure supply chain continuity
  • Keep current on categories market insight, cost drivers, global tariff, and macro economy trends.
  • Function as Subject Matter Expert (SME) for responsible components and component manufacturing processes in both the technical aspects and overall industry knowledge.
  • Identify potential new suppliers and partners for direct sourcing and for distribution partner sourcing/directed buy and makes recommendations on supplier selection and quality compliance.


Qualifications

  • Strong commodity management and strategic sourcing experience, minimum 8 years of progressive experience.
  • The candidate must demonstrate an understanding and experience in supporting the full lifecycle of contract management for procurement suppliers including contract workflow, drafting and review processes for contracts, and comprehensive understanding of the linkage between operational, commercial and legal issues inside supplier contracts in order to effectively lead contractual negotiations with suppliers with support from the Group Head of Legal.
  • Familiar with electrical commodities (magnetics, semi-conductors, PCB, LED, active/passive parts). Strong previous experiences with major electronics distributors.
  • Full understanding of master service agreement, vendor management programs including VMI and Consignment. Ability to close the contract negotiation with legal department and suppliers on assurance of effective costs and parts availability.
  • Robust people and technical skills that include developing strong relationships and solving complex problems.
  • Self-starter. Excels in a team environment, driving demonstrated results.
  • Strong business acumen and project management skills.
  • Strong communicator, both within the team and to leadership, and to executives/senior leaders at external suppliers.
