Redwood Credit Union is looking for a talented Auto Sales Assistant who will performs a wide variety of semi- routine administrative support duties requiring the use of independent judgment, analysis, and detailed knowledge to assist members in the purchase of a vehicle.
Key Responsibilities
Customer Service:
o Greet Members and answers incoming telephone calls.
o Call Members referred to the RCU Auto Services by branch, member service center or other referrals to set appointments or sell vehicles.
Clerical Support:
o Assist Auto Sales Manager with completion of monthly reports and other tasks as needed.
o Controls, creates, and submits invoices for payment for repairs, smog certifications and other reconditioning items on repossessed vehicles.
o Print checks and maintain records for vendor payments.
o Ensure the immediate collection of sales proceeds on each vehicle sold.
o Work closely with the Accounting Department to maintain RCUAS account balances.
o Assemble paperwork on Repossessed vehicles.
o Maintain inventory lists for each credit union’s repossessed vehicles.
o Determines appropriate location for repossessed units and schedules the transportation of the unit.
o Record and submit applications, claims and cancellations for guaranteed auto protection and mechanical breakdown warranties.
o Submit service contracts and guaranteed auto protection (GAP) refunds on repossessed vehicles.
o File Insurance claims on repossessed vehicles, when available.
o Evaluate and disseminate paperwork for CUNA/CPI claims on repossessed vehicles.
o Organize, schedule and transport repossessed vehicles for reconditioning.
o Establishes and maintains a professional relationship with auction, wholesale, and consignment partners.
o Establishes grade and floor pricing for units at auction.
o Partners with Auto Advisors to ensure sales paperwork is complete and organized.
o Complete and release DMV titles.
o Prepare and file DMV ‘Report of Sale’ within 5 days of sale.
o Ensure maximum flexibility to assist in a variety of functions as necessary. Perform vehicle inspections on vehicles including repos, inventory units & others as needed.
o Assist in directing & tracking the reconditioning, detailing & website marketing of inventory.
o Ability to drive cars to mechanics, detail vendors and other reconditioning vendors.
o Ability to move cars around and organize the dealership lot.
Auto Sales:
o Sell vehicles displayed on the auto buying lot.
o Sell mechanical breakdown warranties, guaranteed auto protection coverage and other vehicle related items.
o Prepare paperwork for the sale of the vehicle and loan.
o Research and solve member problems and complaints in an accurate and timely manner.
o Perform all functions in a security conscientious manner.
Other Functions:
o Implements new CUSO/credit union related products and services with other employees of RCU Auto Services.
o Provides feedback on marketing efforts.
o Visits branches/departments to promote the auto buying center.

Minimum Qualifications- Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge of automobile loans.
- Knowledge of selling automobiles and/or other vehicles
- Knowledge to sell automobile accessories, mechanical breakdown warranties, and guaranteed auto protection (GAP).
- Excellent service skills.
- Skill in the operation of computers, printers, and modern office equipment.
- Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to process vehicle sales paperwork.
- Ability to collect trade-in titling documents and loan payoff information.
- Ability to coordinate a variety of activities simultaneously and prioritize work.
- Ability and desire to work in a team environment.
- Ability to work weekends.
- Ability to complete and submit DMV paperwork.
- Ability to work with other credit unions on assimilating repossessed inventory.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse group of people.
- Ability to manage time efficiently and effectively.
- Ability to follow through on tasks.
Licenses and Certifications
- Ability to qualify for DMV Salesperson License.
- Ability to maintain a valid California Driver’s License.
- Ability to maintain a Notary certification.
- Ability to maintain insurance under RCU Auto Services insurance policy.
The ideal candidate has a combination of education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma and two years of clerical and customer contact experience with general knowledge of knowledge or dealership desirable.
Base salary range is $24.00 to $31.00 per hour commensurate with experience.
Our base salary starting range is based on scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, and internal peer equity. Physical Requirements:
