Thrift Shoppe Customer Service Associate

Our Thrift Shoppe Customer Service Associates embody our mission of providing compassionate care and support to those in need. They creating a welcoming environment for customers, offer assistance with inquiries, and ensuring a positive shopping experience. With a focus on integrity and empathy, they handle transactions with care, assist in merchandising, and contribute to maintaining a tidy store. Their dedication to our values of dignity, respect, and community engagement helps us to fulfill our commitment to serving others with excellence.

This position is PRN (As needed)

Education and qualifications:

  • High School Diploma/GED required
  • Minimum of 2 years cashier and customer service experience required
  • Experience in a thrift or consignment shop preferred

Essential job responsibilities:

  • Provide cashier service to customers by utilizing a cash register, POS and/or credit card terminal.
  • Welcome and engage with customers as they enter the shoppe and respond to customer questions.
  • Provide excellent interaction and customer service to customers, co-workers, and volunteers both in shoppe and over the phone.
  • Straighten and restock the shoppe throughout the day, before opening and after closing.
  • Ensure returns and/or go-backs are returned to their proper department at end of shift.
  • Assist in other areas of thrift shoppe when necessary including at other thrift shoppe locations.
  • This position will occasionally require working during non-operating store hours and holidays, which may include restocking days and promotional evening and weekend
