As a Consignment Sales Manager, you will be responsible for selling world class wine brands within our Apex portfolio including Piper-Heidsieck, Charles Heidsieck, Rare Champagne, Biondi Santi, Bibi Graetz, Henschke, Elk Cove, Scarpetta Wines, Carpano and others. Additionally you will be accountable for building and maintaining strong customer relationships, maximizing sales of assigned portfolio brands through excellent planning and execution towards the achievement of company and supplier objectives.
Territory: Toronto (Dufferin Street) to London/Windsor/Niagara.

Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with key customers in the on-premise: F&B Directors and Managers, Business Owners and Sommeliers- to drive ongoing business performance.
  • Effectively plan on a daily, weekly, or monthly/quarterly basis, to achieve targets for share, volume, distribution and customer service levels.
  • Manage assigned budget as required.
  • Educate / train on-premises teams to maximize knowledge, drive distribution, improve visibility and increase sales
  • Execute sales calls using the company's Structured Call methodology.
  • Conduct product sampling
  • Collaborate with our total beverage alcohol team members/stakeholders to align and capitalize on sales growth opportunities
  • Report on competitive activities within the territory and offer constructive suggestions
  • Prospect new business within your dedicated territory
  • Host a range of events and experiences for customers including on-premise, corporate and consumer
  • Work with supplier representatives and members of management in the field to promote sales
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required
  • 3 or more years' selling experience in wine industry.
  • Strong organizational and multi-tasking capabilities
  • Excellent communication skills: verbal, listening and written
  • Demonstrate sound judgment and problem-solving skill
  • Excellent Negotiation and Influencing Skills
  • Sound knowledge of the sale and marketing of wine
  • WSET or Sommelier Certification
  • Self-starter with attention to details
  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills
  • Proficient MS Office skills
  • Knowledge of Liquor Board Regulations, market trends and competition

Salary and Benefits Statement:

  • $52,000 Base Salary
